Description

Write C++ for the software behind machine learning, computer vision and 3D modeling. It uses mathematics to analyze images and build realistic 3D models from real-world data.

Stay current with new findings in artificial intelligence, computer vision and computer graphics.

Version your code with Git. Run and test it on a cloud platform against large geospatial data such as maps and geographic information, producing 3D content for end users later on.

The company is a large media and entertainment group with film, television, streaming, news and theme park businesses. It is part of a larger parent company.

Responsibilities

  • Build core machine learning, computer vision and (inverse-) procedural modeling algorithms in C++, with varying amounts of supervision.
  • Rely on linear algebra, probability and geometry in these algorithms.
  • Put the newest findings from AI and graphics research into practice.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the company's direction and what customers need from the product.
  • Manage source code with Git.
  • Ship and check your work against big geospatial data sets, which later become 3D content for users. You will connect to remote machines through a Unix shell.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Have 3+ years of relevant industry experience in a fast-moving, high-growth tech environment.
  • Be collaborative and show you pick up new methods, tools, practices and skills readily.
  • Explain complex technical ideas in clear language to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have built high-performance, efficient C++ systems, optimizing for speed, scalability and resource management.
  • Be confident in a Unix shell such as bash, which is essential here since development and production run on Linux and macOS.
  • Desired: knowledge of modern C++ helps you work with the rest of the data ingestion and product pipeline.
  • Desired: a math background in some mix of linear algebra, probability and geometry.
  • Desired: Git experience is preferred, though Mercurial or other DVCs are an acceptable substitute.
  • Desired: problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desired: experience in game technology, such as Unreal Engine, C++, computational geometry and computer graphics, driving the development of high-performance gaming systems.
  • Desired: the team uses CMake. If you prefer something other than vim/make or Xcode, you must give a convincing demonstration that you can support yourself in that environment.

Conditions

Salary range is $175,000-$215,000.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

For LA County and City residents only: applicants with criminal histories or arrest or conviction records are considered in line with the applicable fair chance laws.

Benefits

  • Eligible for company-sponsored benefits: medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a range of discounts and perks.
  • Full details are on the Benefits page of the careers site.
