Description

You will join an agile group that designs, builds, delivers and maintains a reusable solution for interoperability between diagnostics systems, covering the company's own and third-party instruments, LIS, HIS and edge systems.

The aim is to make development simpler and reduce complexity, time to market, cost of ownership and quality issues for internal customers in the R&D departments of the diagnostics business.

The role supports the design, development, deployment and validation of new connectivity solutions and keeps the existing deployments across the company running.

The company aims to prevent, stop and cure diseases and to give everyone access to healthcare, now and in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussions and complex initiatives within your team.
  • Influence decisions in your area and work with business and architecture stakeholders to deliver solutions for customers.
  • Balance technology, business needs and practical limits to design solutions that are feasible and efficient.
  • Build your team and provide leadership that reflects the company's values and leadership expectations.
  • Inspire the team to create solutions that change how things work, and help shape their priorities and adoption across the wider organisation so customer solutions stay ahead of the market.
  • Lead the adoption of the ASDLC and the way the team works, while protecting quality and good software practice.
  • Show a customer-focused approach in your work.
  • Demonstrate the company's operating principles and contribute to the wider group: put patients first, follow the science, act as one team, embrace differences, accelerate learning, simplify radically, make impact now and think long term.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of healthcare and laboratory integration standards such as HL7, POCT1-A, ASTM and LIS/HIS, plus connectivity solutions for diagnostics environments.
  • Proven hands-on experience developing in C# on.NET, with strong skills in software design patterns, object-oriented design, TDD/BDD, unit and integration testing and maintainable code.
  • A track record of owning the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment, including bringing AI tools into development workflows and understanding cloud and frontend technologies.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, designing robust components and guiding architecture and AI strategy with product managers and stakeholders.
  • A degree in computer science or a related field, with a Bachelor's plus 6 years of experience or a Master's plus 4 years of experience, along with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and fluent English and Spanish for agile, cross-functional teamwork.
  • Experience with instrument connectivity protocols and interoperability in general.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Mentoring skills that support continuous improvement and efficient delivery of high-quality software.
