Senior/Staff Software-Hardware Integration Technical Program Manager - Autonomy

Description

The company is building a full-stack autonomous mobility system for cities. The role turns company strategy into practical roadmaps and schedules that guide execution at each growth stage, working with engineering teams across software, hardware, vehicle engineering and product.

You will work with each engineering team on schedules, milestones, risks, budget estimates and regular progress updates.

Responsibilities

• Work with software and hardware engineering leads and their TPMs across Perception, Prediction and Behavioral ML, TeleGuidance, Planning and Controls, Collision Avoidance System, Sensors, Compute and Vehicle Platform to create one integrated hardware-software roadmap, timeline and set of deliverables.
• Own hardware-software integration programs from start to finish, including sensor bring-up for cameras, lidars and radars, and compute platform changes involving GPUs, memory and SoCs, and how those changes affect autonomy software performance, latency and resource budgets.
• Coordinate software release trains and vehicle integration milestones, and manage dependencies and handoffs between teams.
• Lead cross-functional autonomy teams to build and ship changes that improve driving behavior.
• Spot hardware-software integration and program risks early and put plans in place to reduce them.
• Prepare and present executive updates on program status, issues, risks and accomplishments.

Requirements

• BS or MS in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of engineering program management experience.
• A proven record of running hardware-software integration programs, ideally in autonomous vehicles, automotive, robotics, aerospace or consumer electronics.
• Working knowledge of AV sensors (cameras, lidars, radars) and compute (GPUs, memory, embedded and accelerated platforms).
• Experience with AI/ML, autonomous vehicles, computer vision, large language models, reinforcement learning, simulation, or automotive or aerospace processes.
• Deep understanding of software development processes and of hardware development cycles and build phases.
• Skill with program tools and methods such as Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet and JIRA.
• A strong history of managing complex cross-functional projects and solving problems.
• Keeps the big picture in view and communicates clearly and concisely to each audience.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including visualizing KPIs and program risks.
