Senior Staff Software Engineer, Integrations (Tech Lead) — Veza

Description

You will be a senior staff tech lead engineer on the Integrations team, which builds the identity and access management platform's product features.

The team builds the services that bring data from external systems such as AWS and Okta into the platform. That data powers the company's next-generation features across a growing list of supported integrations.

You will work across many kinds of software and dig into large, complex data systems to decide how each integration's access relationships fit the company's data model. You will also define a scalable way to add new integrations, using the latest AI/ML models.

The platform can only do what its integrations allow, so you will work with every other engineering team to help them use integration data and build advanced tools that let customers manage their whole enterprise ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build integrations with services such as AWS, GCP and Azure, and with resources such as Box, Hashicorp and Databricks, designed for high performance, scalability and reliability.
• Lead a group of backend engineers, mentoring them and helping them grow their skills.
• Set the technical direction for assigned projects, including architecture, design patterns and best practices, and apply the latest AI/ML models to integrations.
• Work with Product, Solutions Engineering, Support and customers to turn requirements into connector designs and set priorities for the integration roadmap.

Requirements

• Experience using or critically assessing how AI fits into work, decision-making or problem-solving. This can include AI-powered tools, workflow automation, or analysing AI-driven insights and their impact on your function or industry.
• Typically at least 12 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 8 years in backend software development focused on data modelling, management, identity, security or related areas.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Golang or Java.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience with optimization, building databases or storage layers, or distributed systems.
• Experience building pluggable, modular software that decouples code.
• Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and with others in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Conditions

Base pay for roles in this location is $190,900 - $334,100. This is a guideline, and total compensation varies by qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. Equity (where applicable) and variable or incentive pay are also part of the package. Sales roles generally use an On Target Earnings incentive structure. Pay depends on the role's geographic location and may change.

Work persona is flexible, remote or required in office, assigned based on the nature of the work and your work location. The company may use a third-party service to check the distance between your home and the nearest office.
