You will work on the components and modules of a product, from requirements and design through build, testing and upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Compare customer and business expectations with the current product and solutions to find gaps, updates and changes, per iteration when working in agile.
  • Sort requirements into their applicable categories.
  • Identify likely solution risks during requirements gathering, inform the relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps.
  • Help write user stories for components, applications and complex features in agile teams.
  • Help design solutions so that processes and applications work together across product modules, weighing trade-offs against business needs.
  • Help turn high-level designs into detailed designs with mock screens, pseudocode and functional logic for specific modules.
  • Write and configure lean code for whole components or applications that meets business, technical, non-functional, maintainability, availability and scalability needs.
  • Help choose languages, development standards and tools for coding and configuration.
  • On your own initiative, learn the fundamentals of new languages and frameworks that may matter for future work.
  • Write scripts to automate repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, testing and other processes where applicable.
  • Add telemetry features as required, working independently.
  • Make sure security policy requirements are applied during code development and configuration.
  • Translate customer requirements into test objectives, then identify and create test cases for components and modules.
  • Run test cases and other types of testing with suitable tools to find errors and defects across the whole component.
  • Track and analyze defects, and run regression testing after every code change to fix them everywhere they occur.
  • Review defects from past projects and solutions to prevent similar ones from recurring.
  • Find and resolve performance and availability bottlenecks in applications.
  • Carry out complex maintenance on applications independently.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics to monitor applications, and carry out corrective, adaptive and perfective maintenance and re-engineering.
  • Analyze application logs, maintenance data and performance data, and report your findings.
  • Assess change requests to determine which are valid and feasible.
  • Keep the project on track against approved milestones and timelines.

Requirements

  • Either a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related area, plus 1 year of experience in software engineering or a related area.
  • Or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of those same fields, plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
  • Experience designing and building iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Experience with UIKit, Cocoa Touch and platform-specific features.
  • Experience applying MVC, MVVM and VIPER to produce modular, testable and maintainable code.
  • Experience building and connecting Node.js and GraphQL APIs that power iOS front-end features.
  • Experience with API schemas, API testing and response optimization.
  • Experience monitoring app performance, crash stability and success rates.
  • Experience debugging with Xcode, Instruments and logs.
  • Experience writing unit tests with XCTest to automate checks and protect against regressions.
  • Experience working across the frontend stack on full-stack mobile and web solutions.
  • Experience with code reviews, static analysis and test automation to improve reliability and developer efficiency.
  • Experience using Core Data, Core Animation, GCD and other iOS frameworks for UI rendering, background processing and persistent storage.
  • Experience with technical design and project delivery.
  • Experience working with product, design and UX teams to turn user needs into technical solutions and mobile experiences.
  • Any amount of experience with these skills is accepted.
