Description

The company is a sports technology firm working where sports, media and betting meet. More than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries use its technology and expertise.

You will join the team building the data analytics platform and data pipelines that collect, transform, store and analyze large volumes of sports data, plus data on how the company's products are used. You will help build and maintain the big data infrastructure and work with data scientists and BI developers who use it for analytics and AI/ML work.

The cloud-native platform combines managed cloud services with open source frameworks hosted in the cloud. It stores and queries hundreds of billions of rows and runs production workloads such as machine learning inference and interactive dashboards, efficiently and at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate scalable, reliable and secure data warehouses and data integration and processing pipelines.
  • Model data and integrate it for machine learning, analytics and reporting.
  • Run ad-hoc data analyses and help data scientists and analysts with their data needs.
  • Design, deploy and monitor infrastructure for distributed batch analytics jobs and real-time streaming analytics.
  • Help build state-of-the-art machine learning, analytics and reporting solutions on the company's data.
  • Explain technical architectures, ideas and solutions clearly to other engineers, and help shape the technology stack.

Requirements

  • You have a solid grounding in databases, data modeling and ETL processes.
  • You have worked with data warehouses or big data query engines such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Amazon Athena or Presto.
  • You have at least 4 years of hands-on programming experience in the Java ecosystem.
  • You have experience administering production databases.
  • You have advanced SQL skills.
  • You have experience with streaming data systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Nice to have: experience with Apache NiFi, Flink, Airflow or Dagster.
  • You hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • You work independently and rigorously, bring creative ideas and collaborate well with others.

Conditions

The role is fully on-site, five days a week in the office. Exemptions may apply depending on location; your local contact can confirm the details.

Engineering offices are in Europe, Asia and the US, and the team is international.

Equal opportunity: applicants are considered without regard to protected characteristics.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours.
  • A clear professional and personal development plan, and room to shape your own workday and career within the company's career framework.
  • A global Employee Assistance Programme, the Calm and Reulay app for stress, focus, sleep and resilience, and online training videos.
