Description

The company provides neutral, trusted identity infrastructure so organizations can adopt AI safely.

The Android platform team builds the company's Android apps and SDKs. Its authenticator app uses 2-step verification so that only the rightful user can reach their accounts. It works closely with Android system features and the backend across phones, tablets and wearables.

You will join the team as a Software Development Engineer in Test, reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance. You will help keep releases secure and reliable through test automation of the app and SDKs.

The company has over 20 offices worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Android test automation strategy and framework architecture for the app and its SDKs.
  • Build and expand the test automation framework, and write test scripts.
  • Design structured test frameworks in Kotlin using Espresso, UI Automator and Jetpack Compose testing tools.
  • Write and maintain functional, regression, performance and end-to-end tests across Android form factors and OS versions.
  • Run tests with application developers, and log, track and validate the results.
  • Validate bug fixes and suggest product improvements for major and minor Android and Google OS updates.
  • Use CI/CD tools, cloud device testing platforms, JIRA, XRay and ADB to raise quality issues with developers early.
  • With product management and cross-functional teams, write test plans based on business requirements and software designs in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Mentor engineers across quality and development, and write and review Java and Kotlin designs and code with colleagues of varying seniority.
  • Set quality metrics for test coverage, flakiness and CI pipeline health, and hold teams to them.
  • Work with Security to define and carry out security and privacy tests for Android authentication flows.
  • Represent quality in architecture and design reviews for new app and SDK features.
  • Define and communicate quality plans for the Android platform and dependency scrum teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software test automation experience on Android mobile apps, including 3+ years building and maintaining Android UI test automation frameworks.
  • Skill in writing Android test tools and scripts in Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience setting test strategy for a platform or product area, leading release testing and handling complex product issues.
  • Experience building and maintaining mobile CI/CD pipelines with tools such as CircleCI, GitHub Actions or Bitrise.
  • Hands-on experience with Espresso, UI Automator, JUnit and AndroidX Test.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and XRay.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash/Shell.
  • Familiarity with Android security and hardware-backed features: Android Keystore, StrongBox, BiometricPrompt API and TEE.
  • Experience with cloud device testing platforms such as Digital.ai, Bitbar, BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab.
  • Experience testing Jetpack Compose UI elements.
  • Preferred: a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
