Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and partners, aimed at harsh operating environments.

The Electronic Warfare team designs software-defined, mass-scalable RF solutions for autonomous systems. The work covers hardware board design, thermal and structural packaging, real-time C++ signal processing, and directional mesh networking, with the aim of fielding EW capabilities that work in contested spectrum.

The team is hiring for several software engineering roles. The main goal is to keep the fleet able to command, control, and maintain situational awareness against near-peer threats.

The role centres on the electromagnetic spectrum. Whether your focus is signal processing, communications, or EW effects, what counts most is a background in EW and high-performance C++. The team values depth and problem-solving over matching every sub-specialty requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Define, evolve, and maintain the software architecture for embedded applications, targeting high throughput, deterministic latency, and modular decoupling.
  • Build abstractions, clean APIs, and clear interface boundaries between algorithms, networking, and hardware drivers so the codebase stays maintainable as the team and system grow.
  • Find architectural debt and tangled data flows, and lead refactoring so fast-moving prototype code becomes production-ready, testable, and robust.
  • Design and implement core modules in modern C++ (C++20/23), with clean concurrency, efficient memory use, and zero-overhead abstractions.
  • Promote modular patterns, test harnesses (unit, integration, and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation), reproducible builds, and CI/CD quality gates across the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with algorithm developers, RF engineers, and hardware specialists to turn domain algorithms and prototype pipelines into clean, cohesive production software.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing, structuring, and maintaining medium-to-large C++ codebases, including design patterns, component modularity, interface design, and clean architecture.
  • Extensive professional experience with modern C++ (C++17/20/23), including template metaprogramming, modern concurrency, memory-efficient data structures, and debugging and profiling tools (gdb, valgrind, perf).
  • Deep knowledge of Linux system architecture, multi-threading, inter-process communication (IPC), asynchronous I/O, POSIX APIs, and edge networking.
  • Hands-on experience building automated test suites (mocks, stubs, contract testing, HIL pipelines) and CI/CD integration for real-time or embedded software.
  • Ability to work constructively with rapid prototyping teams, giving practical architecture guidance that helps developers move quickly without compromising system integrity.
  • Experience with software-defined radio (SDR) platforms, GNU Radio, RF streaming pipelines, or high-throughput DSP workflows. This is listed as a requirement.
  • Familiarity with high-speed serialisation frameworks (e.g., Protobuf, FlatBuffers, ZeroMQ, gRPC) and distributed systems messaging. This is listed as a requirement.
  • Understanding of embedded Linux development, kernel drivers, Yocto/Buildroot, or cross-compilation toolchains. This is listed as a requirement.
  • Background in real-time operating systems (RTOS) or safety-critical software engineering standards. This is listed as a requirement.
  • To apply, send your CV in English if you want to help build European defence and see yourself in this description.

Conditions

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for this position. Details are shared during the recruitment process.

The company values equal opportunity for all genders.

Benefits

  • The software and systems you build help protect personnel and support European and national sovereignty.
  • You work alongside experienced engineers on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms.
  • The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with strong R&D funding behind bold ideas.
