Description

The company offers banking, asset servicing, wealth management and asset management, and works with individuals, families, companies and institutions around the world.

Founded in 1889, it has more than 135 years of financial history and over 24,000 partners, which is what it calls its employees.

This is a senior engineering role focused on designing, building and modernizing scalable enterprise applications.

The work centers on API-first, cloud-native systems, with C with.NET for backends and React for frontends, and a steady focus on security, performance, maintainability and sound engineering practice.

You will work with architects, product owners and cross-functional teams to ship reliable software that meets enterprise standards and regulatory obligations.

The company describes a flexible, collaborative culture with a strong record of financial strength and stability, where people can move between roles, senior leaders are reachable, and the workplace is inclusive.

Employees are encouraged to give their time and skills to their local communities, which the company treats as a core part of its culture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in.NET and ASP.NET Core (C).
  • Apply clean architecture, using SOLID, DDD and CQRS where they fit the problem.
  • Handle data access with Entity Framework Core or similar tools, using stored procedures only where needed.
  • Make systems secure, resilient, auditable and observable.
  • Help shape architecture decisions and write clear technical design documents.
  • Build responsive, modern interfaces in React and TypeScript.
  • Create reusable component libraries that meet UI/UX and accessibility standards.
  • Connect frontends to APIs securely and efficiently, covering authentication, authorization and error handling.
  • Improve frontend performance and the overall user experience.
  • Write unit and integration tests for frontend components.
  • Use CI/CD practices with tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Promote test-driven development and automated testing.
  • Take part in code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with DevOps, QA and platform teams to make deployments reliable.
  • Support production systems and help resolve incidents when needed.
  • Lead on modern practice: API-first design, cloud-native patterns, automation and reducing technical debt.
  • Guide and mentor engineers, encouraging consistent practice across teams.
  • Spot technology risks, scaling problems and non-functional gaps early, then push for workable fixes.
  • Weigh immediate delivery needs against long-term platform health, maintainability and operational resilience.
  • Build software responsibly, putting security, accountability, client trust and data protection first.
  • Work across engineering, architecture, product, operations and risk to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Keep improving systems through modernization, automation and proven engineering practice.
  • Own solutions end to end, from design through production support, with steady focus on reliability and quality.
  • Build for regulatory, compliance and audit needs through appropriate controls, logging and documentation.
  • Choose technology that supports scale, resilience and lasting client outcomes, not just short-term delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of C and.NET with ASP.NET Core.
  • Proven experience building micro-frontends (MFEs) with React and TypeScript.
  • Strong grasp of REST APIs, HTTP fundamentals and API security.
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, mainly Azure. Docker containerization experience is preferred.
  • A plus: hands-on work with agentic AI SDLC and spec-driven development.
  • Strong command of object-oriented design, clean code and refactoring.
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing and mocking frameworks.
  • Familiarity with event-driven and microservices architectures.
  • A plus: Kafka or other messaging technologies.
  • Experience in agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Preferred: experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Preferred: knowledge of performance tuning, high-volume transaction processing and distributed systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear, structured communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive approach, with strong ownership and accountability.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
