Description

The company is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, supplying high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions.

Around 80 percent of the world's microchips are made with its technologies, which helps produce smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient chips used in phones, smart homes and smart factories.

This role sits in the software team for lithography systems.

Responsibilities

  • Write embedded control software for the next generation of lithography systems, mainly in C on bare-metal controllers.
  • Contribute to embedded Linux software components where needed.
  • Help define software architecture and turn requirements into solutions that can be maintained over time.
  • Build and improve the test infrastructure used to verify and validate software.
  • Analyze technical requirements, runtime behavior and edge cases to keep the system reliable.
  • Work with an agile, highly specialized development team and with experts in software, electronics and system development.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, control systems, mathematics, physics or a comparable field.
  • Recent, hands-on professional experience in C for bare-metal systems.
  • A solid grasp of low-level embedded concepts such as memory management and hardware-related programming.
  • Practical experience in machine-oriented software, embedded Linux or real-time environments.
  • Some initial experience with software architecture and technical design decisions.
  • A good grasp of software design principles and the ability to derive solutions from requirements, runtime behavior and relevant edge cases.
  • Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working, and clear communication across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Good German and English.
  • Python for test automation is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of FPGA or VHDL is ideal but not required.

Conditions

Equal opportunity applies; all qualified applicants are considered.
