Description

The company is moving fast to develop and deliver advanced defense systems, and the team is still early, so you would have large ownership and a direct effect on the company's work and direction.

You would join exceptional teammates to build simulation software for missile guidance, navigation, and control (GNC). You would work with GNC algorithm developers, flight software engineers, and test teams to build fast, accurate, and robust simulations that inform system architecture, performance assessments, and mission outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a 6-DoF missile simulation platform.
  • Build scalable infrastructure that runs Monte Carlo campaigns, manages their data, and aggregates results, plus automated tools that evaluate performance.
  • Manage configuration and keep shared sources of truth between simulation and flight code.
  • Optimize software for real-time or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) execution when needed.
  • Create testing, verification, and documentation practices that keep the software reliable and correct.
  • Support flight software integration, pre-flight analysis, and post-flight reconstruction.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust for high-performance numerical modeling.
  • Working knowledge of databases and large data structures.
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience with numerical integration, coordinate transformations, and simulation architecture.
  • Experience linking software modules across languages, such as embedding Rust in C++ or writing Python bindings for C++ libraries.
  • Familiarity with GNC concepts in aerospace or missile systems.
  • Ability to write well-structured, scalable, and efficient code.
  • Preferred, not required: experience with missile dynamics, aerodynamics, or propulsion modeling.
  • Preferred, not required: background in Monte Carlo simulation pipelines and statistical analysis.
  • Preferred, not required: experience with hardware-in-the-loop or real-time simulation.
  • Preferred, not required: exposure to sensor modeling (IMU, GPS, radar, seekers) or actuator modeling (TVC, CAS).
  • Preferred, not required: experience integrating simulations with GNC or embedded flight software environments.
  • Preferred, not required: experience designing APIs or internal tools for engineering teams.

Conditions

This position may require access to classified information or restricted U.S. Government sites, systems, or information, as determined by the Company and/or applicable U.S. Government requirements. If it is designated that way, your employment may depend on obtaining and keeping the required U.S. Government security clearance or other government authorization, and on meeting any citizenship or other eligibility requirements set by applicable law, regulation, executive order, or government contract. You will be told if and when these requirements apply.
