Senior Research Scientist, Fundamental Generative AI

The company is hiring a senior research scientist for its fundamental generative AI team in the company Research.

The work targets generative models for biomolecular design, covering small molecules, proteins and RNA, plus other scientific uses of generative AI, often called GenAI4Science.

The role centres on fundamental research, with room and time to pursue ambitious ideas. You will need a strong mathematical background and the ability to analyse problems and build new models.

The team publishes regularly at leading machine learning and AI for science venues. Your work is meant to have a real-world effect.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and implement new large-scale generative AI methods.
• Publish your original research.
• Work with other research groups and product teams.
• Present at conferences and events.
• Move promising technology into product groups.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, statistics or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of relevant industry or postdoctoral research experience.
• Deep knowledge of the theory and practice of generative AI.
• Experience building generative models for molecules, molecular dynamics, proteins, RNA or other scientific data.
• Strong programming skills in prototyping languages such as Python, plus C++ and parallel programming, for example CUDA.
• Working knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• An outstanding research record.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and other objective job-related factors. The expected base salary range is 192,000 USD to 304,750 USD.
