Senior Project Manager-MEP Building Automation Controls

Description

The role supports a financial services client account as a consultant, helping the company reach its strategic business goals.

You will lead onsite and regional office infrastructure construction projects, mainly MEP upgrades and installations in occupied offices within smart buildings, with a focus on building management system automation controls.

The position sits in the Project Management function as Owner's Representative, managing projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Run every phase of multiple real estate projects, from planning and design through construction, occupancy and closeout.
• Work with clients to define scope, staffing needs for delivery, cost estimates and budgets, schedules with milestones, quality control and risk.
• Report project progress to the Project Management Director and other business leaders.
• Coach and mentor other project managers so they build deep expertise across most or all of the function.
• Set delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the qualification process. Run complex requests for proposals, evaluate bids and recommend resources to clients.
• Keep all workstreams on schedule and move issues to resolution or further along.
• Hold regular meetings to review the status of active and pending projects.
• Work with the team to design solutions and steer delivery through to completion.
• Use advanced knowledge to find and build better methods for individual and department goals.
• Build strong expertise in your own field and solid knowledge of other areas in the function.
• Influence customer, operational, project and service outcomes across multidisciplinary teams, within functional policies that shape procedures.
• Help create new products, processes, standards or operational plans that support functional goals.
• Lead by example, act in line with company values, and win over senior leaders and others with differing views.

Requirements

• You must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship.
• Preferred: a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, with 8-10 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in place of a degree.
• Preferred: PE, LEED AP, PMP and/or CCM designation.
• Required: owner's representative experience with a Class A financial or professional services client, plus infrastructure or MEP experience.
• Desired: strong knowledge of BMS controls, building automation and smart buildings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of PM Web or similar project management software.
• Required: a proven record of strategic work with senior leadership and of leading delivery resources on projects.
• Required: ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding setting while leading multiple projects or programs at different stages.

Conditions

Hybrid schedule with onsite work.

About 20% out-of-town travel within the region.

SOX control duties may be part of the role and must be followed where they apply.
