Senior Principal Software Developer

Description

The company is looking for an experienced senior principal software developer to support a mission-critical program for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

You will join a development team in a rapid development environment, working with defined processes such as Agile.

The work involves designing, building, and testing front-end and back-end parts of integrated systems, connecting systems through integration code, and building interoperable services on open standards and service-based architectures.

The role directly supports national security missions.

Responsibilities

• Work on a development team in a rapid development environment, following defined processes such as Agile.
• Design, write, and unit test front-end and back-end code for integrated systems in languages and packages including HTML, CSS, C++, C, Java, and JavaScript.
• Build integration code that links systems and services together.
• Create solutions based on open standards and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) that enable interoperability across service-based architectures.
• Help develop and configure database systems.
• Investigate, fix, and document Discrepancy Reports (DRs) for systems.
• Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile events that help the team deliver.
• Work with program stakeholders so development matches business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Required: An active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI and polygraph clearances.
• Required: A bachelor's degree in any field, or 7 additional years of relevant information technology experience in place of a degree.
• Required: Experience with HTML, CSS, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, and their packages.
• Required: Experience designing, writing, and unit testing front-end and back-end solutions for integrated systems.
• Desired: A technical certification such as Network+, Security+, Oracle, or a certification in software development or cloud computing.
• Desired: A Certified AWS Solutions Architect certification at Associate level or higher, or an equivalent AWS certification.
• Desired: Experience with Momentum Financials (Unison/CGI) systems.
• Desired: Experience supporting NGA or other NGA/IC customer environments specifically.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position with a minimum Top Secret clearance required to start.

No travel is required, and any travel is local.

The proposed salary range is $105,100-$231,100.

Final salary depends on factors including geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
