Description

The company builds defense systems for current conditions, designed by former U.S. military veterans and Silicon Valley engineers. Its sensing and detection products help warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams act faster and stay ahead of threats.

Founded in 2022, the company has raised $1B in total funding from investors including 8VC, Accel, and NEA.

The company is based in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and London. It has 400 employees across 5 global offices and is still growing.

This role supports R&D and product engineering, beginning with next-generation radar products. You will work on several capabilities across the company's product lines and can build skills across those families.

Responsibilities

  • Build software for next-generation radar products, covering both R&D and production work.
  • Help integrate software onto hardware, mostly commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) units.
  • Support software already deployed with U.S. and international customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional object-oriented software development.
  • Advanced Python skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile practices, including Scrum, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate in small teams.
  • Solid understanding of Linux and extensive experience developing software on it.
  • U.S. Person status is required, because the role needs access to U.S.-only data systems.
  • Preferred: development experience with ground or airborne sensors (radars, EO/IR, EW, etc.).
  • Preferred: experience designing and implementing radar modes and algorithms, signal processing, target detection, and tracking.
  • Preferred: current or previous DoD security clearance.
  • Preferred: experience with networks, in software and hardware.
  • Preferred: experience with CUDA.
  • Preferred: experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), such as Ettus.
  • Preferred: experience with time synchronization technologies beyond NTP.
  • Preferred: experience developing near-real-time embedded software.
  • Preferred: experience with git.
  • Preferred: experience with containers such as Docker or Podman.
  • Preferred: familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as WSL, KVM, Hyper-V, or VMware.
  • Preferred: experience with BIOS, Secure Boot, TPM, Network Boot, and PXE.
  • Preferred: experience with hardware and software drive encryption, such as LUKS or OPAL.
  • Preferred: experience with 2D and 3D visualization, ideally in defense use cases such as SIMDIS.
  • Preferred: experience with DoD and related system or software architectures and messaging standards, such as OMS, SOSA, or Link-16.
  • Preferred: experience with modeling and simulation, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testbeds, such as DIS, VR-Forces, or AFSIM.
  • Preferred: experience with production-level software development and deployment, including DevOps, DevSecOps, or CI/CD using modern FOSS and COTS toolsets.
  • Preferred: full lifecycle software development of high-TRL systems.
  • Preferred: HW/SW integration and test and V&V of high-TRL systems.
  • Preferred: experience with additional languages such as C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, or Go.
