This role is remote, so you will mainly work from home.

You will join the federal civilian agency team within the company's networking business, which sells AI-driven networking solutions that modernize infrastructure, improve user experience and securely connect people, places, applications and data.

The focus is campus, branch, WAN, zero trust and access control for federal civilian agencies.

This is a senior, customer-facing technical leadership role in pre-sales. You will advise on complex deals, build customer trust and act as the subject matter expert in your specialty.

You will design end-to-end technical solutions that match customer business goals to scalable architectures. Most selling happens at customer sites, outside company offices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior pre-sales technical advisor for assigned federal civilian agency accounts, mainly on campus, branch, WAN, security and access control.
  • Lead discovery and turn business, operational and technical needs into architectures and roadmaps.
  • Design and present wired and wireless campus, branch, WAN, security, NAC, automation and cloud-managed solutions.
  • Work with account managers to qualify opportunities and move them from discovery to close.
  • Prepare technical proposals, presentations, workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concept work.
  • Explain how the company's networking products differ from competitors and position them against alternatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product management, services and partner teams to clear blockers and tie solutions to customer outcomes.
  • Track market trends, competitive moves and emerging technologies for cloud-driven environments.
  • Build relationships with customer engineers, architects, operations leaders and decision-makers.
  • Support channel and partner work that extends reach inside accounts.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, internal meetings and strategic events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in pre-sales systems engineering, solution consulting or similar customer-facing work in enterprise or cloud environments.
  • Deep campus and branch networking experience covering wired, wireless, WAN, security and network access control.
  • Required: strong hands-on experience with Juniper Junos and Mist.
  • Preferred: API knowledge.
  • Highly desirable: SRX knowledge, or knowledge of DMVPN, ADVPN or GroupVPN.
  • Experience with network access security platforms such as HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE or similar.
  • Solid working knowledge of data center and WAN technologies. Strongly preferred: direct hands-on experience in one or both.
  • Experience supporting complex customer environments and explaining technical capabilities in terms of mission value.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to engage engineers and executives alike.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations, primarily throughout the United States.
