Description

At Trainline, our purpose is to empower greener travel choices, connecting people and places. Trainline enables millions of travellers to find and book the best value tickets across carriers, fares, and journey options through our highly rated mobile app, website, and B2B partner channels.

Great journeys start with Trainline

We’re Europe’s leading independent rail platform, helping millions of travellers find and book the best-value rail and coach journeys across our app, website and partner channels.

Our job is to make the green travel choice the best choice. By building a better train travel experience, we help more people choose rail - creating a positive impact for customers, our business and the planet.

We’re a team of more than 1,000 Trainliners from over 50 nationalities, working across London, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Edinburgh and Madrid. Now is a brilliant time to join us and help shape the future of travel.

Introducing the Trainline Paid Search Team

Our Paid Search team plays a central role in helping millions of people discover and book rail travel across Europe, the US and the UK. We manage and grow our PPC accounts across multiple markets, combining data, testing and smart use of AI to turn search insight into sustainable growth. As a Senior Paid Search Executive, you will help shape how we show up for travellers at the moment they are looking for their next journey.

You will work across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, owning campaigns from setup through to optimisation, and working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Data Science, Marketing Technology and more. Your work will have a direct impact on our European growth strategy, and you will have the space to bring your own ideas, test them and see the results.

In this role as the Senior Paid Search Executive, you will...

Develop, launch and scale paid search campaigns across EU markets, optimising for performance and growth

Support the wider Paid Search team to run go-to-market campaigns for new launches from start to finish, alongside our everyday activity

Deliver an always-on testing programme across ads, landing pages and other areas, and contribute to our test and learn roadmap

Explore and apply AI tools and automation to improve how we build, optimise and analyse campaigns

Analyse campaign performance and test results, turning them into clear insights and practical recommendations

Take ownership of your work with a high degree of autonomy, managing several priorities at once with care and attention to detail

Work with large data sets to spot trends, solve problems and uncover opportunities to grow our market share

Collaborate with colleagues across the business to share learnings, including what works well and what doesn’t, and play an important part in the success of our European growth strategy

We’d love to hear from you if you have...

Fluency in English and strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data-led recommendations clearly

Hands-on experience running and optimising Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts

A solid understanding of digital marketing tactics, particularly how the Google auction works and automated bidding

Confidence working with large data sets in Excel, and a curious, data-driven approach to problem solving

Curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI to work smarter, for example to automate routine tasks, generate ad ideas or spot trends, along with the judgement to check and refine what AI produces

A growth mindset and enthusiasm for developing your skills, backed by enough paid search experience to work independently, for example from managing your own campaigns

Ideally, experience with feed-based tools, AI-powered campaign types, or other PPC management platforms

You may also have experience with EU PPC accounts, other digital marketing channels, or working with Tableau, dashboards, BigQuery or SQL
