You need hands-on experience with DC/DC power conversion, including digital multiphase PWM controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Give on-site and remote technical support to internal and external teams, and carry out root-cause analysis and debugging.
  • Build a thorough system-level understanding of customer applications to guide new product development.
  • Lead product promotion and design-in work, including power tree architecture and debugging of power delivery systems.
  • Help define innovative, differentiated products from technical requirements and market needs.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts for internal evaluation boards and customer designs.
  • Build and run simulations of power converter circuits and systems to develop solutions and resolve technical issues.
  • Train Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and customer engineering teams on product use and DC-DC converter fundamentals.

Requirements

  • You bring strong organization and careful attention to detail.
  • You have experience with power ICs, MOSFETs, control loops, digital controllers and multiphase buck converters.
  • You are comfortable using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads and function generators.
  • You have used analog circuit modeling and simulation tools such as SIMPLIS and PSpice. This is required.
  • You have advanced knowledge of DC/DC topologies, including buck, boost, buck-boost, charge pump and intermediate bus converters.
  • You have used schematic capture and PCB design tools such as OrCAD, Allegro and Cadence.
  • Knowledge of Intel SVID, AMD SVI, PMBus and AVSBus power management interfaces is a plus.
  • You understand control theory, closed-loop compensation and stability margin analysis.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and speaking. This is essential.
  • Education: a BSEE or BSECE with 7+ years of relevant experience, or an MSEE (preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
