Description

This is a 16-month parental cover role for a Senior MLOps Engineer.

Your job is to move machine learning models built from customer data into production environments that stay dependable over time.

You will work across data science, data engineering and software engineering, turning customer models into solutions that can scale without becoming fragile.

The team is made up of colleagues in data science, data engineering, software engineering, product and marketing technology, and everyone shares responsibility for how live models behave.

Curiosity is valued, reliability is a priority, and the team solves hard problems together.

Responsibilities

  • Make model deployment and monitoring smoother, more reliable and repeatable.
  • Build stronger operational practices so live systems stay healthy and easy to maintain.
  • Set up clear processes for model dependencies, production risks and operational incidents.
  • Improve the machine learning operations framework and help manage risk across live systems.
  • Create shared ways of working across data science, data engineering and software engineering.
  • Link customer models, behavioural data and marketing technology in practical ways.
  • Spot dependencies early and reduce risk in live environments.
  • Explain deployment decisions, dependencies and production risks to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Requirements

  • You have deployed and monitored machine learning models in production.
  • You have improved machine learning operations frameworks while managing reliability and operational risk in live systems.
  • You have worked with data scientists, data engineers and software engineers to put production machine learning solutions in place.
  • You can explain deployment decisions, dependencies and production risks clearly to technical and non-technical people.
  • Preferred: You have put customer models into production through a Customer Data Platform.
  • Preferred: You have built machine learning models using large-scale customer, behavioural, customer relationship management or marketing data.
  • Preferred: You have built or productionised models for marketing targeting and personalised experiences.
  • Preferred: You have written documentation for model deployment, monitoring and incident handling for engineering and product teams.

Conditions

This is a 16-month parental cover contract.
