Description

The company is a global financial institution, the fifth largest bank in North America by branches and stores, serving more than 27 million households and businesses in Canada, the United States and beyond with over 95,000 colleagues.

The North American Marketing Strategy and Operations team brings together strategic planning, performance management, operational governance, colleague enablement and cross-functional delivery to help Marketing achieve stronger business and customer results across Canada and the United States.

This Senior Manager role leads high-priority initiatives that move Marketing's strategy and operating agenda forward in both countries. You will report to the Vice President of North American Marketing Strategy and Operations for Credit Cards, Loyalty and Personal Lending and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, linking priorities across markets and turning executive direction into clear decisions, workable plans and measurable results.

You bring sharp strategic thinking, solid business judgment and strong execution. You frame unclear problems, pull together complex information and influence partners across functions while keeping several initiatives moving. You are as comfortable setting enterprise strategy as you are driving detailed delivery, and your work meets an executive standard.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan and deliver priority initiatives that back the Global CMO and Marketing leaders. You own scope, outcomes, milestones, dependencies, risks and the executive decisions they require.
  • Convert strategic direction into workable roadmaps, backward-planned schedules, governance routines and measurable deliverables.
  • Bring Canadian and U.S. views together into one North American recommendation, accounting for differences in markets, regulation and operating models.
  • Spot emerging issues, opportunities and dependencies early, and build options and recommendations that support timely, informed decisions.
  • Run several complex initiatives at once, adjusting plans as priorities shift without losing quality, pace or accountability.
  • Advise as a go-to partner on urgent, sensitive and high-stakes matters.
  • Produce clear, concise, executive-ready presentations, briefing notes, recommendations, communications and meeting materials.
  • Turn data, financial information, stakeholder views and external context into clear narratives, points of view and recommended next steps.
  • Set up disciplined operating rhythms with agendas, decision logs, action tracking, escalation and follow-up.
  • Coordinate enterprise and North American initiatives that need consistent framing, integrated planning and disciplined implementation across teams.
  • Keep an enterprise-wide view of related work, linking initiatives to cut duplication, improve sequencing and raise outcomes.
  • Own a portfolio of complex strategic initiatives with significant functional, North American or enterprise impact.

Requirements

  • You hold an undergraduate degree or a relevant professional designation, or equivalent experience.
  • A graduate degree is an asset.
  • You bring 10+ years in strategy, business management, marketing, transformation, consulting, executive enablement or a closely related field.
  • You have delivered complex work that spans functions, taking it from strategy through implementation.
  • You know how marketing strategy, planning and operating models work in practice. Experience in financial services is an asset.
  • You communicate exceptionally well in writing and speaking, can craft executive-level narratives and lead senior discussions.
  • You analyze well and solve problems: you can structure unclear issues, weigh trade-offs and propose practical options.
  • You build trusted relationships and bring stakeholders with competing priorities into agreement, often without formal authority.
  • You manage projects and portfolios with discipline, and you can rank several visible deliverables when the pace is high.
  • You show sound judgment, discretion, resilience and care for detail.
  • You work autonomously where priorities, scope and solutions are still open.
  • You advise executives with good business sense and a clear view of how the organization works.
  • You connect cross-functional processes and views, balancing near-term delivery with medium and longer-term goals.
  • You keep a longer view while still paying close attention to quality.
  • You live by the company's stated values.
