Description

About Nscale

Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure to everyone from AI start-ups to large enterprises, removing the complexity of AI development so our customers can manage costs, innovate faster, and build responsibly. Our culture is built on innovation, ownership, accountability, and transparency, and we're scaling quickly to meet global demand for AI compute.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, field-focused engineer to own low-voltage execution for Nscale's AI and GPU data center deployments. As a Senior Low Voltage Deployment Engineer, you'll independently lead low-voltage delivery for one or more sites, translating design intent into safe, high-quality field execution and driving infrastructure from readiness through acceptance and turnover.

You'll lead contractors in the field, guide Low Voltage Deployment Engineers, and partner closely with project and engineering teams. This is a remote, US-based role with significant travel (50% or more), including extended onsite presence during active deployment phases.

What You'll be Doing

Low Voltage Delivery & Execution

Own low-voltage deployment execution for assigned sites from site readiness through installation, testing, acceptance, and turnover

Oversee fiber, copper, structured cabling, pathways, containment, patching, labeling, and associated infrastructure supporting high-density AI environments

Use approved designs, LLDs, cable schedules, rack elevations, and Nscale standards to verify onsite implementation and resolve field discrepancies

Identify field blockers, dependencies, and readiness gaps and drive them to resolution

Vendor & Field Leadership

Serve as Nscale's technical and field lead for low-voltage contractors and integrators on assigned sites

Manage vendor performance across staffing, schedule, quality, productivity, testing, remediation, and deliverables

Lead onsite coordination and hold partners accountable to approved scope, milestones, and quality expectations

Guide and support Low Voltage Deployment Engineers in the field

Technical Leadership & Quality

Contribute technical input to design, constructability, readiness, and deployment reviews

Lead QA/QC activities covering routing, labeling, polarity, fiber cleanliness, bend radius, cable management, termination, patching, and workmanship

Review and approve fiber and copper test results and certification documentation, including OLTS and OTDR where required

Drive punch-list remediation and final acceptance, and capture lessons learned and recurring issues

Project & Cross-Functional Execution

Manage site-level schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies across concurrent low-voltage workstreams

Partner with Network Infrastructure, Construction, AI Infrastructure Deployment, Engineering, Commissioning, Operations, and Supply Chain

Provide clear status, risk, and escalation updates to project leads and stakeholders

Contribute to deployment methods, standards, checklists, and vendor requirements as the team scales

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, network infrastructure, data center construction, deployment engineering, or a closely related field
  • Experience leading field deployments and directing third-party vendors or contractors
  • Strong working knowledge of fiber-optic and copper infrastructure, installation practices, testing, and quality requirements
  • Ability to interpret LLDs, construction drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, port maps, and technical deployment documentation
  • Experience managing site schedules, risks, dependencies, punch lists, and cross-functional handoffs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with field teams, engineers, project leaders, and vendors
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more, with extended onsite presence during active deployments
  • You'll thrive here if you are:
  • A field leader who is comfortable owning execution where the work is happening
  • A technical problem solver who can move between drawings, fiber testing, vendor execution, and project constraints
  • An owner who identifies gaps early and drives them through resolution
  • A collaborator who builds alignment with vendors and partner teams
  • A mentor who helps less experienced engineers raise their game
  • Experience in hyperscale, cloud, HPC, or AI data center environments
  • BICSI certification (e.g., Installer/Technician or RCDD)
  • Why this role matters
  • Every GPU cluster Nscale delivers depends on the physical network underneath it. The quality of fiber and copper infrastructure directly affects how quickly customer capacity comes online and how reliably it performs. In this role, you'll be the person who makes sure that infrastructure is built right the first time, and you'll help shape the standards and playbooks Nscale uses to deploy at scale across North America.
  • What We Can Offer You
  • We offer a highly competitive package, including base salary and equity, with regular compensation reviews. You'll have the opportunity to grow quickly, take real ownership, and help shape how Nscale scales. We take a human-first approach to flexibility, giving you autonomy over how you work while staying connected to a collaborative, remote-first team.
  • US benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
  • Equal Opportunities Statement
  • Nscale is committed to building an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace, and we welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and abilities. We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds. If there's anything we can do to accommodate your specific circumstances during the application process, please let us know.
  • The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
