Forward Deployed Engineer

Description

The company is a group of engineers, researchers and security researchers building autonomous proactive security. The aim is to find risk and fix it before an organisation is breached, using purpose-built security models and agents that carry the methods of expert security practitioners.

The team is led by Kevin Mandia, whose previous company was sold to Google for $5.4B. Its researchers and engineers have worked at Google, xAI, Meta, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Waterloo, Berkeley and MIT.

Responsibilities

• Work inside customer organisations to deploy the agentic platform into their environment and build what is needed to make it work for them.
• Be the person on site when a customer gets stuck, and ship the fix the same night if needed.
• Take each customer from pre-sales scoping through deployment and expansion, so the first weeks go smoothly.
• Build customer-specific integrations, workflows and agent configurations on top of the platform.
• Work directly with customer security, platform and DevOps teams and CISOs, turning unclear requirements and compliance constraints into deployment plans that ship.
• Convert manual work into runbooks, automation and self-service tools that later customers can use.
• Feed what you learn in the field back to Engineering, Product and Research.
• Lead upgrades, scaling and incident support for the most critical deployments.
• Use what you learn from each deployment to make the next one faster.

Requirements

• Have worked as a forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, solutions engineer or in a similar role, with a record of owning customer outcomes in the field.
• Have experience at a leading AI company or AI-native startup, where you shipped LLM-powered products to real customers.
• Have strong software fundamentals and hands-on cloud and deployment experience with AWS, Terraform, containers and networking, including deployments into customer-owned environments.
• Prefer building a working solution on site over writing a requirements document, and take ownership of what you build through its operational life.
• Use AI in your own work and judge when to configure, when to extend and when to move a capability into the core platform.
• Hold a degree in computer science or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience.
