The company is a financial consulting firm that works with capital, commodity and digital market participants. It designs and delivers complex front-office trading technology, built on its own reusable accelerators.

Clients include major investment banks, investment managers, fintechs and capital markets service providers. The company has offices in London, New York, Barcelona and Montreal.

The product line is growing. Aeron is a high-performance messaging infrastructure. Hydra is a developer framework that speeds up building and delivering trading systems. Artio is an open-source FIX engine with a leading place in its market. Aeron Sequencer runs replicated state machines at scale.

The hiring process has three stages: a call with a recruiter, a video chat with a Java engineer about your Java knowledge and experience, and an in-person or Zoom interview that includes a technical task and a conversation with the local director. Asking questions and asking for help during the process is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Java applications and libraries.
• Write code that is clean, efficient and well documented.
• Find and fix faults in Java applications so they run smoothly.
• Review colleagues' code for quality, maintainability and reuse.
• Track new trends and technologies in Java development.
• Pair with teammates to reach strong results.

Requirements

• Experience in server-side Java development.
• Experience designing, building, debugging and operating distributed systems.

• Experience applying different kinds of testing to check qualities such as correctness and performance.
• Experience measuring, benchmarking and profiling components and systems.
• Clear written and spoken communication, including explaining technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
