Senior Java Developer - Assistant Vice President

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer at Assistant Vice President level to design, build and maintain middleware systems.

You will need strong Java and Spring Boot skills, solid database knowledge, and an interest in using AI to raise team output and generate new ideas.

This is a full-time role in the Technology group, Applications Development family, filling an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the building of complex middleware services in Java and Spring Boot, using AI assistants such as Copilot and Codex to move faster and keep standards high.
• Design and tune how applications work with Oracle, SQL and MongoDB, using AI to study performance and recommend fixes.
• Push teams toward CI/CD pipelines that include AI-driven testing, vulnerability scanning and failure prediction.
• Review code with AI analysis tools that catch bugs and security issues.
• Work with cross-functional colleagues to pin down requirements and ship high-quality software.
• Coach junior engineers and encourage AI-based development habits.
• Investigate and adopt new AI technologies that improve productivity and software quality.
• Diagnose hard problems with AI anomaly detection and log analysis.
• Use AI for advanced risk analytics and compliance monitoring.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of applications development experience using current software engineering practices.
• A record of planning and delivering projects successfully.
• Hands-on experience building software with AI-driven methods.
• Working knowledge of consulting and project management methods that suit AI-accelerated delivery cycles.
• Ability to handle pressure and deadlines, using AI tools to adapt.
• A bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Core Java, preferably Java 11 or 17, including multithreading, collections, garbage collection and JVM internals.
• Deep experience with the Spring Framework, across Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Spring Security.
• RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• MongoDB, including data modeling, querying and performance tuning.
• Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Git, with branching strategies such as Gitflow.
• JUnit, Mockito and integration testing.
• SOAP and REST web services, XML and JSON.
• Hands-on use of GitHub Copilot, Claude, Devin, Codex and Anti Gravity, plus knowledge of AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, and AI for code generation, testing, debugging and documentation.
• Angular experience: a plus.
• AI certification: a plus.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Salary range is $94,300.00 to $141,500.00 at the primary location.
