Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer

You will join the GN&T Network Security team as an Engineer IV in the Network Access organization, working on a new Jumphost function within Network Security.

The team is made up of engineers at different levels who share responsibility for this function.

Infrastructure Access Engineering designs, builds and runs a new platform owned by Network Security. It gives network teams one central set of access points to reach their devices.

The function serves other network teams. It gives them central tools to put the Network Security Fundamentals (Access Management, Situational Awareness, Configuration Hardening, Vulnerability Mitigation) into practice at scale.

You need strong interpersonal and technical skills. You will work across team boundaries to take these functions from concept through design to production.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers to turn complex business needs into functional specs and practical technical designs.
• Build and maintain a highly available, redundant Jumphost platform that keeps systems reliable and the business running.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert and share knowledge within Network Security and across other business units.
• Deploy, configure and test new hardware and software so it fits securely into the existing infrastructure.
• Track the right KPIs to monitor platform performance and capacity, and address scaling and resiliency needs before they become problems.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience, which can come from work, military service or specialized training.
• Deep knowledge of networking and network security.
• Technical work experience in security, IT or networking.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Experience planning, building and running network security solutions.
• Proven leadership and business acumen in a large organization.
• Experience building relationships across business units.
• Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• Strong networking and cybersecurity knowledge and experience.
• Hands-on work with virtualization and cloud infrastructure, specifically VMware and OpenStack.
• Experience designing or operating containerized environments with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Splunk and modern SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools for threat detection and situational awareness.
• A track record of managing complex processes, delivering results and adapting to change.

Conditions

This role can be based in any US hub location.

This is a hybrid role with a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, with office days set by your manager. You are responsible for following the hybrid work policies.

The schedule is 40 hours per week.

Pay is based on location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. The role is incentive based, with potential to earn more. For part-time roles, pay is adjusted to the hours worked.

The annual full-time salary range for the listed location(s) is $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.

The annual full-time salary range for the New York location(s) listed is $111,500.00 - $194,000.00.
