Description

The company connects diamond and gemstone suppliers directly with jewellery retailers in more than 70 countries through one digital marketplace, replacing slow, offline trading. It already processes over $300M in annual transactions in an industry worth more than $350B globally, and it is still early in its growth.

The company's mission is to give jewellery businesses of any size and location the same access, pricing transparency and ease of trading, and to make buying and selling diamonds and gemstones simpler worldwide.

You would join the Growth Pod, which covers the path from a business first finding the company to becoming a high-value customer: sign-up, onboarding, verification, activation and keeping accounts engaged. The team is small, with high ownership, and works closely with Product, Data and Risk. You will help shape solutions to problems that have no existing playbook, and the engineering organisation values judgement as much as code.

The Growth Pod focuses on Sign-up and Onboarding, Discovery and Checkout, and the backend services that move accounts from activation to repeat purchase. You would own a flow from the screen a new jeweller sees through to the data showing whether it worked.

Tech stack: React and Next.js on the front end; TypeScript and Node.js, a GraphQL API gateway, and an Nx monorepo managed with PNPM on the back end; OpenSearch fed by CDC from PostgreSQL, Spark, EMR and Glue ingestion jobs, PostgreSQL for transactions, and Snowflake modelled with dbt in medallion layers; Jenkins and GitOps for deploys on AWS (EMR, Glue, DMS, Kubernetes); Segment and Mixpanel for analytics; Keycloak for auth and Okta for SSO; Grafana for logs and traces. The front end uses MUI.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship React and Next.js screens for sign-up, onboarding, verification, discovery and checkout.
  • Work with Design and Product to turn funnel findings into UI changes and test them.
  • Own front-end performance, accessibility and analytics tracking across the funnel.
  • Build reusable components for the MUI-based design system that carry the company's brand.
  • Own and develop the backend services for onboarding, verification, activation and the full sign-up-to-purchase funnel, most likely in TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Design event-driven, workflow-based systems that continuously assess account state, such as activation, slipping, winback, lapsed and churned, and trigger the right action automatically instead of relying on batch scripts.
  • Connect third-party identity verification, KYB/KYC and fraud or risk providers so the integrations are resilient, monitored and fail safely.
  • Handle credit and payment data responsibly in personalisation and reactivation logic, keeping in mind the cost of subtle errors.
  • Design and run experiments properly, including guardrail metrics and telling real results from noise, for referral incentives, reactivation offers and onboarding changes.
  • Write your own SQL and query the warehouse (Snowflake or similar) to run cohort analysis, diagnose time-to-activation and time-to-churn, and investigate funnel problems without waiting on a data team.
  • Take on problems with no established playbook, such as a credit utilisation gap or a drop in sign-up-to-purchase conversion, helping to define the problem as well as solve it.
  • Use AI agents to speed up building and testing funnel and lifecycle services, reviewing anything touching credit, payment or verification with extra care.
  • Use AI to draft and check analytical queries, and verify results yourself before they inform a decision.
  • Critically assess AI-generated output such as messaging, reactivation copy and suggested churn causes before it ships.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in full stack product engineering, with real ownership of customer-facing production features from UI to service.
  • Deep experience with React, TypeScript and modern front-end practices, including state management, performance, accessibility and testing.
  • Proven experimentation rigour: you have designed proper experiments, understand guardrail metrics, and can tell a real result from noise.
  • Experience with workflow engines or event pipelines that continuously evaluate state and trigger actions, or a clear willingness to learn them.
  • Strong SQL and warehouse skills (Snowflake or similar), with the confidence to run your own cohort and funnel analysis.
  • Comfort using AI agents to build and test software and to draft and check analytical work, with the judgement to spot subtle errors in plausible AI output.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for problems without a clear spec or established playbook.
  • Practical ability to judge whether AI-generated output, including copy, messaging or a proposed root cause, is fit to ship.
  • Direct experience integrating with identity verification, KYB/KYC or fraud and risk providers.
  • Fintech-adjacent experience handling credit, payment or other sensitive financial data responsibly.
  • Experience in a high-growth marketplace or fintech environment with comparable account lifecycle complexity.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal or AWS Step Functions, or event-streaming platforms such as Kafka.
