Senior Engineering Manager

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the development and modernization of its Wholesale Lending Operations technology platforms and initiatives. The role is based at the Mississauga Technology Centre.

You will set technology direction, run platform engineering and deliver the work behind the company's global wholesale lending and credit lifecycle systems. The teams you lead will build critical platforms for loan origination, servicing, syndication, collateral management and workflow automation, serving large corporate, institutional and commercial clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Make sure platforms meet regulatory obligations, are ready for audit, satisfy information security requirements and follow architecture governance standards.
• Work with operations leaders, product managers, quantitative analysts, credit risk officers and global architecture teams to keep technology roadmaps aligned with core business priorities.
• Lead the adoption of GenAI developer tools, coding assistants and automated CI/CD gates to speed up delivery and improve code quality.
• Set and enforce standards for distributed systems, API-first integrations, event-driven pipelines such as Kafka, and modern UI and micro-frontend architectures.
• Build a culture of test automation, early security checks, chaos engineering and zero-downtime releases.
• Hire, grow and guide software engineers, technical leads and architects at the Mississauga site, and coordinate them with distributed global teams.
• Foster a culture of technical curiosity, continuous learning, psychological safety and clear career paths.

Requirements

• You have 10+ years of relevant experience.
• You have a strong background in wholesale lending. Experience with loan platforms is highly desirable.
• You have deep knowledge of modern languages and frameworks, such as Java/Spring Boot, Python or React/Angular, plus microservices and event streaming with Kafka or MQ.
• You have hands-on experience with containers (Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and infrastructure as code.
• You actively use and promote modern developer tools, GenAI productivity assistants, automated code analysis and DevOps telemetry.
• You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A master's degree is preferred.

Conditions

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $145,100.00 to $217,700.00.
