Senior Director, Product Design

Description

You will lead design across consumer experiences in credit, identity, marketplace and financial services, helping people understand their finances, protect their identity and find products that fit their goals.

This is a dedicated design leadership role covering design craft, systems and practice. You will work closely with Product, Technology, Engineering, Analytics and Revenue.

You will help lead an AI-native product transformation, rebuilding core experiences where AI is a core design material, not an added feature.

You will report to the Chief Product Officer. The role requires you to live in or near one of the company's collaboration hubs, since the company asks hub-based talent to work in person with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead an AI-native redesign of core consumer experiences, treating AI as a foundational design material.
• Define new interaction models for personalized, intelligent experiences, deciding when AI should guide, explain, act or step back.
• Own design results against shared product metrics such as activation, conversion, engagement, retention and revenue, working closely with Product, Analytics and Revenue.
• Apply behavioral design principles to product and design decisions.
• Design for consumer trust in credit and identity products, balancing transparency, protection and ease of use.
• Lead the evolution of the design system as shared product infrastructure, in partnership with Engineering.
• Lead, coach and grow a multidisciplinary team of product and content designers, including hiring and team structure.
• Act as a high-agency partner to the CPO and senior leaders, helping shape strategy and surface trade-offs.

Requirements

• 10+ years leading product design at a scaled consumer technology, fintech, marketplace or similarly complex digital product company.
• 3+ years hiring, developing and leading product design teams.
• Experience leading a major product transformation or platform shift, including AI-driven redesigns of core workflows.
• Experience owning a product or business metric, such as activation, conversion, engagement, retention or revenue, tied directly to design decisions.
• Experience building, evolving or governing a design system with Engineering, with evidence of production adoption.
• Experience applying behavioral design principles to consumer decision-making, engagement and habit formation.
• Experience partnering with Analytics, Growth or Revenue teams on experiments, funnels and growth metrics.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Engineering and Revenue.
• Live in or near one of the designated collaboration hubs for this role.
