Senior Developer

This senior role sits in the software team, working across the full development lifecycle and guiding junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, testing, release and upkeep of software that scales and stays reliable.
• Turn requirements from product owners, business analysts and other stakeholders into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code that follows good practice and the team's architecture patterns.
• Review code, give useful feedback and make sure coding standards are met.
• Diagnose and fix hard technical problems so applications stay available and perform well.
• Coach junior developers and help build a habit of learning and improving.
• Take part in agile work, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Assess new technologies, tools and frameworks that could improve development and product quality.
• Help refine how the team builds software and the methods it uses.
• Make sure work meets security standards and data privacy rules.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Working knowledge of one or more languages such as C, Java, Python or JavaScript (Node.js/React).
• A firm grasp of object-oriented principles and design patterns.
• Extensive experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and with microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• A solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks), if the role calls for it.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
• A proven record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior team members.
• Preferred: a master's degree.
• A plus: experience in manufacturing or supply chain.
