Description

The company sells cloud software to life sciences firms to help them get therapies to patients sooner. It became a public benefit corporation in 2021, balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors, and reported over $3B in revenue last fiscal year with substantial room to grow.

The Link Key Accounts team is hiring a senior data scientist. This is an early-stage role where you can shape both the methods and the product.

Responsibilities

  • Build models and methods that turn data from several healthcare sources into dependable insight about healthcare organizations, their networks, and the decision makers within them.
  • Work on both quantitative and qualitative problems: analyze claims and financial data, and infer influence and structure from titles, roles, and other soft signals.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning methods to claims and other structured data to create new metrics, such as readmissions and average length of stay across different claims sources, all-payer estimates, and clinical ontologies.
  • Convert public financial data into clear signals and a coherent account of the financial health of healthcare organizations.
  • Create entity resolution and record-linkage models that span health systems, provider organizations, employers, and payers.
  • Map affiliations and networks, working out how organizations and people connect and how influence and reporting lines run between them.
  • Derive org charts and decision-maker maps from titles, positions, and role characteristics.
  • Design sourcing methods that evaluate, score, and combine varied inputs, including public filings, web sources, and licensed data, into accurate and defensible account signals.
  • Build the models behind account targeting and segmentation, including decile scoring, patient-volume and disease-state signals, and strategic filters.
  • Work with Product, Data Engineering, Engineering, and QA to move solutions from prototype to production, then keep iterating on them.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on data science and statistics work.
  • At least 5 years working with healthcare data and the US healthcare system.
  • Hands-on experience with claims data, medical and/or pharmacy, and the metrics derived from it.
  • Experience with healthcare organizational data such as HCO/HCP, IDN, GPO, and payer data.
  • Experience developing clinical ontologies or standardized healthcare data models.
  • Experience with entity resolution, record linkage, or fuzzy matching on messy real-world data.
  • A track record of finding structure in noisy, incomplete data through cleansing, experiment design, solution assessment, and scaling.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to turn goals into concrete work plans.
  • Able to explain statistical and technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical depth.
  • M.S. in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.

Conditions

Base pay ranges from $95,000 to $175,000. Actual pay may fall above or below that range depending on experience and location, and offers reflect each candidate's qualifications and expected contribution.

The role may also be eligible for variable bonus and/or stock bonus in addition to base salary.

The role is listed as remote under the company's Work Anywhere model, so you can work from home or from an office, whichever suits you.

Headquarters are in the San Francisco Bay Area, with offices in more than 15 countries.

Hiring steps: within 3 days of applying you receive a link to a third-party personality assessment. After completing it, the team reviews your full application and emails a decision on moving forward.

If you advance, you will have a conversation with the hiring manager, a practical case exercise, and a final conversation with the group's Senior Leader. The manager contacts you with a final decision once all interviews are complete.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
  • Flexible PTO and company-paid holidays.
  • Retirement programs.
  • A 1% charitable giving program.
