The company gives app businesses the infrastructure and tools to build, run and improve monetization.
Its customers range from solo developers to the mobile team at OpenAI.
Its stated values are Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance.
The systems here manage billions of dollars and reach hundreds of millions of end users, so the bar is high and the team is demanding.
The interview process is deliberately rigorous.
Responsibilities
The role is for a senior product data scientist with a strong product focus and a proactive approach.
You dig into the data on your own, learn what pains customers have, spot openings and push ideas forward, without waiting for fully defined questions.
You work with Product, Engineering and Analytics on what gets built, why, and how success is measured.
Your work feeds customer-facing features such as LTV prediction, experimentation and significance testing, benchmarking, and new data products not yet built.
The data stack is a Python backend, PostgreSQL production databases, Snowflake, dbt and AWS.
Explore the company's data to find customer problems, opportunities and product bets.
Turn vague product and business questions into clear analyses, models and recommendations.
Help shape roadmaps with Product Managers rather than only carrying them out.
Design, build and ship production predictive and descriptive models for customer-facing features.
Define and assess statistical methods for experiments, benchmarking and forecasting.
Explain insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, focusing on customer impact.
Keep improving shipped models and features based on real usage and feedback.
Ownership is real: you help drive decisions, not just support them.
Requirements
You are a senior data scientist who cares about impact and product results.
5+ years working as a data scientist.
Strong SQL skills and comfort with data modeling.
Experience building and deploying predictive and descriptive models in production.
Experience writing or working alongside production-ready Python code.
A solid grasp of statistics and experimentation, ideally including Bayesian approaches.
You can explain complex ideas and results to broad audiences.
You are highly proactive and opinionated, and ready to push ideas forward.
You are comfortable with messy, real-world data and imperfect information.
You put customer value ahead of academic elegance.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and building structure where none exists.
You enjoy working closely with Product and influencing decisions.
You are interested in the consumer subscription ecosystem and how developers make money.
Success in month 1: understand the data models, get to know the team, ramp up on ongoing data feature work, and ship your first project.
Success within 3 months: help ship a data feature to thousands of developers, learn incident response basics and join the on-call rotation, work with Product, Analytics and Engineering to improve pipelines for data science features, and start your own data explorations.
Success within 6 months: own one or more core data-powered features end to end, shape the data feature roadmap with data-backed proposals, and become a go-to partner for product teams.
Success within 12 months: propose and lead new data-driven product initiatives, push further on how the company uses data to help developers grow revenue, and help shape data science as the function grows.
