Senior Data Engineer with Databricks (Warsaw)

The CEE unit has close to 1,000 specialists building modern applications, data platforms and AI solutions for clients including Millennium, ING, Play, Edenred, Arabian Drilling, FedEx, Leroy Merlin, Truecaller, Volotea and Schmitz Cargobull, among others.

The team works with AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• You design, build and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• You create metadata-driven processing frameworks and reusable engineering components.
• You build and support data flows from landing and Bronze layers through Silver to analytical consumption layers.
• You develop and tune ETL and ELT processes for enterprise data products.
• You add reconciliation, data validation and automated tests.
• You help shape delivery frameworks and engineering templates for data products.
• You work in source-focused and domain-focused delivery pods.
• You work alongside data modelers, BI engineers, platform engineers, architects and client stakeholders.
• You help move legacy data processing workloads and analytical assets to new platforms.
• You build monitoring, logging and operational support for data pipelines.
• You contribute to CI/CD practices and automation work.
• You pass on knowledge and hand over work to client engineering teams.
• You take part in data quality work, troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Requirements

• Solid experience building pipelines and transformation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets.
• Experience running ETL and ELT processes in cloud environments.
• Experience building data integration and transformation frameworks.
• Understanding of modern data architecture, including Bronze, Silver and Gold layers.
• Experience with automated testing, reconciliation and data quality processes.
• Working knowledge of software engineering practices, version control and CI/CD principles.
• Ability to work in cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience delivering solutions in enterprise-scale environments.
• Experience with metadata-driven processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with data product-oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of dbt or modern analytics engineering practices.
• Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) and deployment automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native data platforms.
• Exposure to GxP-regulated environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale data modernization or migration programs.
• Knowledge of reconciliation automation and enterprise data governance practices.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering standards.

Conditions

The role is based in Warsaw.

You must work from the European Union region and hold a work permit.
