Description

The role centres on cinematic and scripted event scenes, where the animation carries the story. You will deliver high quality animation, built either by refining motion capture or by hand keyframing.

Responsibilities

  • Refine body and facial performances taken from video and motion capture.
  • Apply animation principles such as posing, timing, balance and weight to produce realistic, believable keyframe work.
  • Turn story scripts and storyboards into previs, including scene layout, staging, camera work and editing.
  • Take review notes and feedback from the cinematic and animation directors.
  • Work with scripters and animation TDs so the animations integrate cleanly.
  • Find inconsistencies and bugs, and confirm that each cinematic plays correctly.

Requirements

  • Solid track record of building cinematic animation for video games.
  • Strong skill in storytelling, acting and cinematography.
  • Knowledge of game cinematic production pipelines and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D tools such as MotionBuilder, Maya, 3DSMax, Photoshop, Premiere and Final Cut.
  • Works well with animators and other project members.

  • Careful eye for detail and experience fixing technical problems.
  • To apply, send a portfolio of your best game cinematic animation work and a CV that shows your experience and skills.
