Description

This role supports third party issuer business for the US and Canadian markets within the company's global payment network group, offering both strategic and tactical help.

You will help find and size target segments and prospective issuers, and you will be central to thought leadership through operational and product analysis, solution options and risk assessment.

You will work day to day with business development and sales, product managers, operations and several levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess target segments and prospect issuer opportunities for the US and Canadian markets, and pursue the most promising ones.
  • Build pitch materials, pricing scenarios, deal support and deal governance for new issuer pitches.
  • Write SQL analysis and Tableau reports that show how healthy the third party issuing program is.
  • Lead in-depth analyses of operations, explore solution options, assess risks, and support the rollout of business strategies.
  • Spot business problems and improvement opportunities, then recommend strategic or tactical fixes backed by analysis.
  • Build models and analytics that inform new product and pricing strategies for lending products.
  • Support direct-to-consumer marketing for selected products and the go-to-market intent for products sold through retail, including customer insight work.
  • Support credit risk improvements by linking drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, building risk models and testing hypotheses with monitoring.
  • Frame problems, form and test hypotheses, develop solutions, check operational feasibility, lead implementation and write monitoring plans.
  • Work with IT, sales, operations, finance and other teams to improve quality, volume, service and profitability.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in analysis.
  • A bachelor's degree, or a master's degree, or an MBA with a quantitative concentration, in a quantitative field such as business, finance, accounting, statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, computer science, computer, software or mechanical engineering, information systems or a closely related field.
  • You may also apply if you are working toward one of these degrees, provided you will have it by the scheduled start date.
  • A record of making decisions and solving problems with analytics, with strong quantitative skills alongside conceptual thinking.
  • Sound business judgment, leadership and integrity, with a determined, assertive but responsible approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, plus the ability to influence, build agreement and negotiate.
  • A clear focus on short and long term results, and the drive to push an agenda forward in uncertain, changing conditions.
  • A proven record of working well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
  • Preferred: a master's degree in business or a quantitative field such as finance, economics, physical sciences, mathematics, statistics or engineering.
  • Preferred: at least 1 year of experience building statistical models.
  • Preferred: at least 1 year of market research experience.
  • Preferred: at least 1 year of SQL querying experience.
  • Preferred: at least 2 years of business analysis experience.
