Description

Markets depends on dependable digital tools, strong analysis and close teamwork between business and technology to manage risk, support financial reporting and guide commercial decisions.

Most business-critical systems are built and maintained in-house. This role sits between two teams: one behind the portfolio and risk management platform, and one behind a set of in-house risk IT tools used by risk analysts, quant teams and developers.

Together these teams make risk management, reporting, analytics and process automation more efficient across the company's trading operations.

The company produces renewable energy and is Europe's largest producer of it, with more than 6,000 colleagues worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Link Markets and IT by matching business needs to suitable digital solutions.
  • Work with business users, quant analysts and developers to capture needs and turn them into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Examine financial models, valuation methods, quantitative calculations and business processes to inform solution design.
  • Manage dependencies between the portfolio platform, internal models and the wider risk IT landscape.
  • Set priorities and support delivery from the first business need through implementation, testing and validation.
  • Help improve risk management, reporting, analytics and automation solutions over time.
  • Work across multidisciplinary teams so solutions run well across systems and meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a business analyst on complex, business-critical IT or digital product work.
  • Solid analytical skills and financial markets knowledge, including financial models, valuation methods and quantitative calculations.
  • Relevant background in energy trading, derivatives, risk management, valuation, market or credit risk, or financial reporting.
  • Hands-on Python for data analysis, investigation, prototyping or automation, and the ability to discuss code with technical colleagues.
  • A structured, practical way of working that lets you work independently, dig into details and own work through implementation and validation.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with experience in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
  • A degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics, finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.

Conditions

The role is based in Oslo or Düsseldorf, depending on the skills and profile of the successful candidate.

You must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation. Background checks are carried out on qualified applicants before hire.

The company manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries.

The company welcomes applicants of every background, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, nationality or disability.

Benefits

  • Career growth alongside a global network of experts, leaders, specialists and graduates.
  • Flexible working arrangements and an emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Social activity groups, including soccer, yoga, sailing, climbing, boxing and cabin rentals.
  • Certified as a Great Place to Work.
  • Competitive employment terms and benefits schemes.
  • A strong focus on keeping employees safe.
