Description

The Brand Analytics team provides insights for Retail Media Partners, giving them one trusted source of truth for data-driven decisions.

The team is moving from a single monolith into four specialized product teams. The environment is largely new, so your design choices will shape the future state and help grow Retail Media revenue.

The company is one of Europe's fastest growing e-commerce companies, operating at the intersection of fashion and technology from offices in Hamburg and Berlin. Decisions are made pragmatically, with flat hierarchies and direct communication.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain production-grade analytical transformations and metric definitions in Google BigQuery that support performance and budget reporting for the bidding marketplaces.
  • Create automated data validation and schema checks that protect public-facing dashboards and analytical tables from upstream changes and structural drift.
  • Lead the move of complex transformation logic and aggregation queries from legacy application repositories into modular, decoupled analytics environments.
  • Work with Data Engineers to define clean modeling boundaries around shared catalog assets such as products and brands, linking the decentralized product stack to core platform endpoints.
  • Set analytics engineering standards, define code reuse conventions, and create reusable data blueprints for the team.

Requirements

  • Experience designing modular, performance-optimized analytical data models and building scalable incremental transformations.
  • Advanced SQL skills and deep hands-on experience with cloud big data platforms such as Google BigQuery.
  • Working knowledge of workflow orchestrators such as Dagster, including synchronizing data assets and event-driven pipeline schedules.
  • Extensive experience writing declarative data checks, regression assertions, and data quality tests that enforce strict metric definitions.
  • Proficiency with Git, structured code review processes, and automated deployment through tools such as GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) for version-controlled modeling code, validation schemas, and deployment workflows.
  • Prior experience in an eCommerce, retail tech, or ad-tech environment, with a solid grasp of web analytics tracking, funnel parameters, or ad performance metrics.
  • Skill at turning loose business descriptions into structured, reliable, standardized metric environments.
  • Ability to explain complex database schemas, transformation choices, and analytical definitions clearly to software developers.
  • Strong drive to establish data blueprints in a technical greenfield setting.
