Universities, education departments and government agencies across Australia must serve students and citizens well with fewer resources. Enquiries, enrolments, applications and support often sit across disconnected systems and teams, and this role helps them redesign those services on the company's platform.
The role leads the company's CRM specialist coverage for education in Australia. You will work with universities, TAFEs and state education departments, and support other state government agencies and, occasionally, federal agencies. You will work alongside the wider public sector team and join a collaborative group that invests in your development as you help build the company's education offer.
Responsibilities
Lead CRM pursuits across universities and education departments, from first discovery to technical win, including complex multi-stakeholder deals and formal RFPs, working with Account Executives and field Solution Consultants.
Turn institutional problems into transformation strategies on the company's platform, such as a university bringing student enquiries from all faculties together, or a state agency making it simpler for citizens to apply for and renew services.
Design and deliver demonstrations that combine customer and industry workflows with partner technologies, AI agents and automation. Configure demo environments, build lightweight proofs of concept, wire up integrations and style portal experiences, fixing what breaks.
Bring your CRM depth to state government pursuits beyond education, and occasionally federal, working alongside the public sector Solution Consultants who lead those accounts.
Build education solution frameworks, reference architectures and go-to-market plays, and present them at sector events and partner briefings.
Work with Sales and Executive Sponsors to shape long-term account strategies, engaging Chief Operating Officers, Chief Digital Officers and student services leaders as a trusted advisor.
Work with partners and delivery teams so that what is sold is delivered well for the customer.
Connect with Product Management, technology partners and consulting firms to advocate for public sector customers and track sector changes.
Coach Solution Consultants in solution design, storytelling and value articulation, and build reusable assets that help the whole pre-sales organisation.
Requirements
Experience using AI in work processes, decision-making or problem-solving, such as AI-powered tools, workflow automation, analysing AI-driven insights, or assessing AI's effect on your function or industry.
10+ years in pre-sales solution consulting, sales engineering or a similar technical advisory role, ideally in customer experience, service transformation, student experience or citizen services.
A genuine understanding of how education institutions run: the student lifecycle, enquiry and case volumes, funding and compliance pressure, and how central teams relate to faculties or schools.
Familiarity with how state and federal government agencies buy and deliver services, including procurement and RFP processes.
A solid technical base: you understand how front-ends, back-ends, APIs and data fit together well enough to build proof-of-concept integrations and find where they fail. You work well with AI-assisted development.
Proficiency with the company's platform, particularly its CSM module, or equivalent hands-on depth in Salesforce, Dynamics, Pega or similar. You have built and configured solutions yourself.
A record of leading complex pursuits end to end, including RFPs and executive engagement.
Experience applying AI and automation to business workflows, such as virtual agents, intelligent routing, process automation or AI-driven insights.
Strong communication and presentation skills, able to engage technical teams and executive leadership alike.
Experience mentoring consultants, a collaborative approach, pipeline discipline, and willingness to travel across Australia as needed.
Also valuable: experience working in or for a university, TAFE, education department or government agency; certifications on the company's platform or related products; background in consulting, systems integration, contact centre or CRM transformation; thought leadership, such as speaking at sector conferences.
