Description

The Department of Social Services combines the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration and the Department of Homeless Services. The first works to reduce poverty and income inequality by delivering benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance to New Yorkers in need. The second works to prevent and end homelessness in the city through varied new approaches that help families and individuals leave shelter and become self-sufficient as quickly as possible.

The department's technology group, Information Technology Services, keeps daily operations running, handles urgent problems, and plans for the long term across both agencies. The team builds and improves the infrastructure and applications behind them, including eligibility and recertification systems, case management, housing, employment engagement, revenue-generating data matches, claims, and personnel systems.

The Enterprise Access Management Office within Information Technology Services is hiring one IT Service Management Specialist who will work as a Security Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, troubleshoot and support hardware and software for the agency's enterprise LAN, covering both production and development systems in a secure, hybrid server environment.
• Run technical diagnostics and fix problems quickly so enterprise operations stay efficient.
• Explain what LAN hardware and software can and cannot do to customer area staff, in plain language.
• Manage hybrid identity systems, meaning on-premises Active Directory and cloud-based Entra ID, including Role-Based Access Control and identity lifecycle processes.
• Administer Windows Server, build and manage Power Platform solutions, and resolve mobile device access issues.
• Help manage secure access, including privileged accounts, for more than 66K user accounts, over 4,200 groups and over 300 enterprise applications.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field, plus four years of full-time experience in IT service management, process management or operations.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college, plus eight years of full-time experience in IT service management, process management or operations.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to either of the above.
