Description

You will lead the architecture, design and rollout of scalable planning and analytics solutions in a complex SAP landscape.

The role centres on setting the SAC solution architecture, designing advanced planning models and connecting SAC cleanly to enterprise data platforms.

You will work with business sponsors, functional consultants and technical developers so that SAC meets planning, forecasting and reporting needs, with strong performance, scale and upkeep.

The company is a Business and IT boutique consultancy focused on Life Sciences, serving pharma, healthcare and animal health clients. It has over 450 employees across 25 offices worldwide and works mainly on S/4HANA, data and cloud.

The Japan presence is still in its early stages, so this is an initiating role: you help shape local growth and act as the bridge between the global English-speaking business and Japanese-speaking local operations, with high accountability and direct influence on outcomes.

You will lead the workstream on the client side and, in the near term, larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the end-to-end SAC architecture, in line with business needs and enterprise IT standards.
  • Lead the design of SAC planning models, covering dimensions, measures, hierarchies, calculations and data structures.
  • Design scalable planning and forecasting solutions that include allocations, simulations, version management and other advanced planning features.
  • Design the integration architecture between SAC and SAP systems, including SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA and other enterprise sources.
  • Set architecture guidelines, data modeling standards and development practices for SAC work.
  • Work with functional teams and business stakeholders to turn complex planning requirements into sound technical solutions.
  • Guide and oversee the SAC front-end and back-end developers on technical matters.
  • Review designs, identify technical risks and recommend changes that improve performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Support testing, deployment planning, technical documentation and ongoing improvement of SAC planning capabilities.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on experience with SAC, especially solution architecture, planning model design and enterprise analytics.
  • A track record of designing and delivering end-to-end SAC Planning solutions in complicated SAP environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of SAC planning models, advanced formulas, data actions, multi-actions, allocations and version management.
  • Sound grasp of SAC architecture, data connectivity, integration patterns and performance tuning.
  • Experience connecting SAC to SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA or other enterprise data platforms.
  • Good understanding of enterprise planning, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Experience setting technical architecture standards, solution design principles and data modeling practice.
  • Ability to turn complex business needs into scalable architecture and to guide development teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and comfort managing stakeholders across business and IT teams.

Conditions

Based in Tokyo, Japan, working remotely, with travel to Yamagata when the client requests it.

Remote work from anywhere in Japan, provided the client project allows it.

Work from a temporary office in Shinbashi, or at the client or project site.

Up to 25 days a year to work from another global location, with the client's permission.

Up to 20 days of annual leave, depending on seniority, plus flexible time off beyond standard holidays.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • CHF 1,500 (approx. 280k JPY) a year for professional development.
  • Optional in-house workshops, academies and training.
  • A 10% annual performance bonus based on company KPIs.
  • Substantial bonuses at 5, 10 and 15 year work anniversaries.
  • A referral bonus, up to Director level, if the person you refer is hired.
  • A team integration budget for meeting, collaborating and bonding.
  • A special gift from the company on your birthday.
  • Flat hierarchy with close mentoring from senior leaders.
