Description

You will join the technical field service team as an individual contributor, supporting robotic medical systems used in hospitals and manufacturing sites, within the supply chain manufacturing function.

The work covers hands-on service for robotic systems and their related equipment, both planned and unplanned, following released procedures, quality-system requirements and safety standards.

You will build your technical skills through formal training, field work, and working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional support teams. The role is based in the West Palm Beach, Florida area, and the posting also lists Santa Clara, California.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, move, install, and commission robotic medical systems and related equipment, and support their preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, testing, upgrades, and removal.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, software, firmware, and performance faults using approved service documents, diagnostic tools, system data, and logs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to scheduled and unscheduled service calls to keep systems reliable and available and customers satisfied.
  • Carry out inspections, field actions, software and firmware updates, service-tool validation, and other assigned tasks to released procedures.
  • Escalate complex or unfamiliar problems and work with experienced engineers, technical support, service innovation engineering, and other partners.
  • Arrange service visits with hospital staff, covering equipment access, site readiness, operating-room needs, and safe equipment handling.
  • Keep accurate, timely records of work orders, field activity, parts used, time, product performance, and system configuration.
  • Look after spare parts, calibrated tools, service equipment, laptops, and other company assets according to inventory and control rules.
  • Follow hospital protocols, privacy rules, infection-prevention practices, GMP/ISO expectations, and environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Manage your time and tasks across planned work, customer needs, paperwork, and travel.
  • Take part in technical and product training and pass useful field knowledge to colleagues.
  • Gather service data, spot recurring issues, and suggest practical improvements to service quality.
  • Build good working relationships with customers, colleagues, and partner teams.
  • Give clear status updates and report service risks, delays, and issues to the right support teams and leaders.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree in a related technical field, or an equivalent mix of education, military technical training, and relevant hands-on experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in field service, medical devices, robotics, capital equipment, or a similar technical setting.
  • Foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, software, and computer-based troubleshooting.
  • Experience with installation, commissioning, sustaining support, calibration, functional testing, or preventive maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of regulated medical-device environments, including quality systems, documentation, GMP/ISO, and safety expectations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills: you can gather data, read system information, identify likely causes, and complete corrective actions within your training.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with hospital staff, technical teams, and internal partners.
  • Clear written and spoken English.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize planned and unplanned work while keeping records accurate and current.
  • Ability to work alone on qualified tasks and collaborate well in a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a CRM or service-management system, such as Microsoft Dynamics (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of parts, inventory, service tools, and calibrated-equipment controls.
  • Ability to learn standard software and firmware upgrade processes, remote support practices, and service-tool workflows.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements where applicable.

Conditions

You will work in hospitals, operating-room support areas, customer sites, and manufacturing environments.

Hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call cover, depending on customer and business needs.

Expect to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight or equipment-access spaces for long periods.

You must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. safely and move service equipment or system parts with the right tools, training, and help.

Travel is about 80% local or regional, with up to 20% domestic (U.S.) travel as needed.

Extra hours, long days, weekends, and holiday support may be needed as business and customer needs require.

Accommodations for applicants with disabilities are available on request.
