Description

The team is a group of engineers and project leads working on wireless sensing for augmented reality, wearables and robotics. The company was founded in 2017 and builds networking, telecom and consumer products for other large technology firms.

You will design, build and prototype hardware and software for wireless sensing. The work shapes the perception features of future smart devices and feeds directly into real products and research plans.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research and build new wireless sensing systems for AR, wearable and robotic uses.
  • Design and build hardware platforms and the software behind them so experiments and validation go faster.
  • Build working prototypes of wireless perception and sensing algorithms, and explain the results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with product, hardware and research colleagues to turn early ideas into concrete deliverables.
  • Publish findings and take part in the wider scientific and engineering community where appropriate.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science or a closely related technical field.
  • 3+ years of research experience in radio-frequency systems (such as wireless communication, radar or software-defined radios) or in signal processing and machine learning (such as DSP or wireless perception algorithms).
  • Skill in Python, MATLAB, C++ or a similar language.
  • Experience with at least one major machine learning framework, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras or the MATLAB Deep Learning Toolbox.
  • A record of working well across teams and disciplines, including across cultures and functions.
  • Preferred: a master's or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, computer science or a closely related field.
  • Preferred: deep knowledge of signal processing, data analysis or advanced machine learning models, particularly for radar, lidar or similar sensing.
  • Preferred: hands-on work building research platforms or electronics for high-frequency sensing.
  • Preferred: a proven ability to explain complex technical work clearly to specialists and general audiences.
  • Preferred: publications in leading conferences or journals on wireless sensing, signal processing or machine learning.

Conditions

Base pay for California candidates is $125,000 to $170,000 USD.

Equal opportunity employer; the company prohibits discrimination and harassment on any protected basis.

Benefits

  • In the United States, benefits include PPO and HMO medical insurance, dental and vision cover, flexible spending accounts (FSA), life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) with company matching, and generous paid time off.
