Description

Its products rely on a distributed networking core used by military personnel, commercial air operators and border protection teams.

Founded in 2022, the company has raised $1 billion from investors including 8VC, Accel and Valor Equity Partners. Its headquarters are in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego and London. The company now has 500+ employees across 5 global offices.

You will be one of three Recruiting Managers, each leading 4-6 recruiters and sourcers and reporting to the Head of Recruiting. This is the first management layer on the team, so you will help define how it works.

You will work with engineering, product, manufacturing, operations and G&A leaders to turn business priorities into hiring plans. Your recruiters should advise hiring managers rather than take orders. You will own the speed, quality and candidate experience of every search on your team while building the playbooks, metrics and habits that let hiring grow without lowering standards.

The work is hands-on: you will stay close to searches, step into critical hires and closes, and help shape how the wider recruiting organization evolves. Experience recruiting engineers in defense, aerospace or other highly regulated technical fields is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop and give direct feedback to a team of 4-6 recruiters and sourcers, setting clear expectations for ownership, urgency and execution.
  • Turn headcount plans from senior hiring managers and functional leaders into recruiting strategies, timelines and pipeline goals.
  • Assign recruiters to teams and roles, balancing workload and skills, and adjust as priorities shift.
  • Track pipeline health, time to fill, offer acceptance and recruiter output, using the data to catch problems early and recommend changes.
  • Serve as the escalation point for recruiters, hiring managers and candidates, resolving issues directly so searches keep moving.
  • Coach recruiters on role scoping, intake, sourcing, candidate assessment and closing, especially for hard-to-fill technical roles.
  • Raise interview quality and consistency through structured, inclusive interviewing, calibration and hiring manager training.
  • Oversee external agencies and contract recruiters used for niche or surge hiring, holding them to the same quality and candidate experience standards as the in-house team.
  • Build scalable playbooks, templates and process improvements for the recruiting leadership team, and share hiring trends and market insight.
  • Apply AI and automation to outreach, talent mapping and reporting, checking outputs for accuracy and bias.
  • Keep candidate and company data secure, including export-controlled hiring needs.
  • Provide and model a proactive candidate experience from first outreach through offer.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting for technical or engineering roles, including a record of closing complex or hard-to-fill positions.
  • 3+ years managing recruiters, including coaching, performance feedback and developing people at different experience levels.
  • Experience building recruiting strategies and delivering against timelines and business goals.
  • A proven record of building trusted relationships with senior business leaders, using market data and business context to shape hiring decisions.
  • A solid understanding of engineering roles and technical skill sets in software, hardware, systems or manufacturing.
  • A data-driven approach, with experience tracking recruiting metrics and turning them into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Experience managing many searches, recruiters and priorities at once in a changing environment.
  • Clear communication, including direct feedback and handling escalations with empathy and confidence.
  • Working knowledge of ATS systems (Greenhouse preferred), sourcing tools and structured interview practices.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Recruiting experience in defense or similarly regulated technical settings such as aerospace, government or advanced manufacturing.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting or building recruiting teams at an early-stage or high-growth company.
  • Preferred: Experience managing a mixed team of full-time recruiters, contractors and agency or RPO partners.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, Pave, Asana and Headcount365.
  • Preferred: Experience using AI-enabled recruiting tools to improve speed and quality of work.
  • Preferred: Experience building enablement programs, playbooks or interview training adopted across a recruiting organization.
  • Preferred: Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners.
  • Preferred: A builder's mindset, with a willingness to improve processes and take on work beyond the defined scope.
