Qualification Execution Engineer - 2271

Description

The role supports customer qualifications for datacenter SSD products. During the product qualification phase, you will help with test execution, failure analysis and status reporting, making sure all hardware and software for the qualification is set up and ready to run, reporting on execution and issue status, and joining update meetings.

The company is the U.S. subsidiary of a global maker of flash memory and SSDs. Its BiCS FLASH 3D flash technology is used in high-density storage for smartphones, PCs, SSDs, automotive and data center applications. The job title on the posting is Customer Qualification Engineer II.

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure the infrastructure used for qualification testing
• Keep customer qualification execution on schedule
• Coordinate tasks with the matching Product Support Engineer
• Carry out first-pass failure triage on problems that come up during qualifications
• Use defect tracking systems to respond quickly to debug requests
• Work through repeated test and analysis cycles until issues are resolved

Requirements

• A BS in engineering or an equivalent qualification, plus at least 2 years of hands-on work with SSDs and/or platform hardware testing
• A solid grasp of computer system architecture basics
• Platform-level troubleshooting ability, including run, break and fix work and isolating issues
• Experience triaging problems on Windows and/or Linux server operating systems
• Experience writing Python, PowerShell or Bash scripts
• Comfort working with data in spreadsheets or more advanced analysis tools
• Clear technical communication, especially when explaining complex situations
• Preferred: experience with PCIe and NVMe protocols, including analyzer and power measurement tools
• Preferred: experience with SSD performance measurement tools and methods
• Preferred: experience using SSD test systems
