Description

You will join the Python and full stack web team in the technology group, which builds tools for the company's Financing and Securitization business. This is a junior applications development role.

The team supports front-office capital markets technology in the Spread Products group, and the role involves designing, delivering and supporting solutions for it.

You will be a core team member, responsible for designing, coding, testing, rolling out and supporting application projects on schedule and within budget.

The job suits someone who can work through complex problems alone, think analytically, and reach conclusions and recommendations from data.

It is a chance to learn within the Spread Products F&S division and work on technology initiatives aimed at keeping the business ahead of its competitors.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable Python backend microservices and APIs, along with responsive web frontends in React, TypeScript or Angular, for the F&S front office.
• Provide support to business users of existing applications.
• Work with trading, structuring and quantitative teams to deliver solutions on schedule that meet capital markets quality and compliance standards.
• Use enterprise AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and internal LLM platforms to prototype quickly, generate unit tests, refactor code and write documentation.
• Write database queries, data ingestion pipelines and analytics for pricing, cash flows and securitization workflows.
• Take part in agile sprints, code reviews and CI/CD build and deployment pipelines that use Git and containers.
• Investigate and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks and operational problems on your own.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, financial engineering, information systems, mathematics or a related quantitative STEM field.
• Have hands-on Python coding experience.
• Know Python packaging and shared libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Have built REST APIs in Python with a micro-framework such as Flask.
• Understand relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server and can write structured SQL.
• Have practical experience with generative AI tools such as Copilot and LLM coding assistants for coding, debugging and test generation, and can check AI output for accuracy and security.
• Have a solid grasp of Git workflows, including branching, pull requests and resolving merge conflicts, along with modern agile practice.
• Have a basic understanding of, or interest in, capital markets, fixed income, bond mathematics, mortgages or structured and securitized products.
• Have exposure to containerization such as Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, or to cloud development.

Conditions

Full-time position based in New York, New York, United States.

Base salary is $95,770.00 to $133,630.00.
