Description

The company has made fluid-handling equipment since 1892 and employs more than 2,000 people, with manufacturing in North America, Europe and China and sales offices worldwide. Its products include loading and unloading systems for bulk products, railcar and tank-truck valves, gauging and tank-monitoring systems, automated storage-terminal controls, and regulators, valves, vaporizers and piping for cryogenics and industrial gases. The company is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of the company (NYSE: DOV).

In this role you lead cross-functional teams that deliver new product development and projects on schedule, within budget, and to the functional, performance and quality specifications. You also track go-to-market plans, annual plans and other commercial work, and you may lead program-wide special projects such as product line rollouts or equipment upgrades.

You work alongside the Market Development Manager, Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Product Manager and the finance lead. You are the central point of information for all of these functions and keep the functional, leadership and executive teams in sync.

Responsibilities

  • Plan projects by building and publishing detailed schedules and keeping them current
  • Monitor completion of project deliverables
  • Work with Product Management, NPD Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Marketing-Sales to assign ownership of project gates and deliverables using a RACI model
  • Keep the list of active projects moving and run project meetings
  • Own the reporting and tracking data for designated projects
  • Track project costs and resource allocation, and flag likely overruns early with team members to plan corrective actions
  • Spot delays and bottlenecks early, document them, and build mitigation plans with the team
  • Keep accountability clear by giving visibility into status and working closely with stakeholders
  • Model the company's core values: respect for people, a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, winning through customers, high expectations for results, and high ethical standards, openness and trust

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with stage-gate processes for NPD and go-to-market work
  • Experience documenting status in MS Project or a similar tool
  • Experience writing weekly flash reports and hosting cross-functional team meetings
  • Familiarity with Agile development and Lean manufacturing
  • Strong status tracking and reporting skills
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills, plus strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to negotiate with stakeholders to reach the best possible results
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, with a strong bias for action and consistent follow-through
  • Ability to influence others with data-based reasoning and to surface obstacles and resolutions so that accountability is clear
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in project management or a related field
  • PMBOK certificate or equivalent
