Project Manager

Description

The company is J.R. Automation's Holland, Michigan team, part of the company Group. It builds intelligent automated manufacturing and distribution technology for leading manufacturers and works across North America, Europe and Asia. The company has more than 2,000 people across more than 20 facilities worldwide.

This is a full-time, salaried, onsite role in Holland, Michigan. You will lead complex, strategic projects from planning through delivery, keeping them on scope, budget and schedule while meeting the company's quality and innovation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage every project phase, from initiation to closure, covering planning, execution, monitoring and control.
• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables with stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Build full project plans, including work breakdown structures, resource allocation, risk strategies and communication plans.
• Manage project budgets by tracking spending and keeping projects within financial limits.
• Guide and mentor project teams and build a collaborative, productive working environment.
• Spot, assess and mitigate project risks and issues, create contingency plans and escalate when needed.
• Report project status, progress and challenges regularly to executives, clients and team members.
• Make sure project management methods, quality standards and compliance requirements are followed.
• Negotiate with vendors and manage external relationships where the project needs them.
• Run post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions to capture improvements and best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, business administration or a similar discipline.
• At least 2 years of progressive project management experience in automation.
• A proven record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Working knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and Scrum.
• Experience with project software and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira and Asana.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at every level.
• Ability to manage several projects at once and set priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work well in unclear situations.
• Preferred: PMP or an equivalent certification.
• Preferred: experience in a global, matrixed organization.

Conditions

Full-time, salaried position based onsite in Holland, Michigan, United States. This is not a remote role.
