Project Manager - Fire

Description

Responsibilities

• You will work in the Global Marine & Navy Fire Team in Manchester, managing fixed fire protection projects on military vessels for navies worldwide.
• Read and interpret client technical specifications and commercial documents.
• Put together deliverable packages.
• Talk to the design manager and request resources against contract deliverables.
• Get quotes from suppliers and buy equipment.
• Arrange shipment of goods and prepare all related shipping paperwork.
• Speak with the project team every day.
• Maintain the contract and project plan in MS Project.
• Act as the main point of contact for the customer.
• Take financial responsibility for projects: prepare progress and financial reports for the management team, including revenue and billing forecasts, cost-to-complete sheets, and attend internal contract review meetings each month.
• Make sure projects finish on time, within budget and to the client's satisfaction.
• Some travel within the UK is involved, and overseas travel may be required from time to time.

Requirements

• Essential: project management experience.
• Essential: strong communication skills for working with the client and the internal project team.
• Essential: experience interpreting client technical specifications.
• Essential: good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Essential: full UK diving licence.
• Essential: SC UK MOD security clearance is required, and the company provides the screening.
• Preferred: project management qualification.
• Preferred: HNC or HND in engineering.
• Preferred: experience in the marine industry.
• Preferred: experience with MoD contracts.
• Preferred: experience in fire protection or fire detection (fire role).
• Preferred: experience in HVAC or chilled water plant work (HVAC role).

Conditions

Hybrid working (LI-Hybrid), based in Manchester.
