You will report to the Devens Manager of Programs and bring engineering and business teams together across every phase of a product or program's life.

The job is to run programs profitably so they meet schedule and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Move new optical designs into manufacturing, working with the technical team to simplify manufacturing and assembly and to hit delivery rates and cost reduction targets.
  • Build and run project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs) and workload forecasts.
  • Work with supply chain and suppliers, stating project requirements clearly and making sure they are met.
  • Brief internal and customer leadership on the status of assigned work.
  • Lead teams investigating failure root causes and carrying out corrective actions.
  • Track and report manufacturing results against plan, covering yield, COPQ and throughput.
  • Set milestones and check that master plans and schedules are being followed.
  • Spot program problems and build and carry out recovery plans.
  • Work with leadership to keep fully compliant with division, corporate and government policies.
  • Be accountable for parts of program execution and its outcome.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of program or project management experience, or similar experience such as leading an Integrated Product Team (IPT), serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or leading a New Product Team (NPT).
  • Experience in aerospace, defense or other technology product industries, covering design for manufacturing, transition to production and production execution.
  • Experience running manufacturing or production programs, including optimizing production lines or driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • A proven track record of analytical, technical, strategic and problem-solving work.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite and MS Project.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's and/or master's degree in engineering or a technical field.
