Description

You will design safe, competitive solutions that put the customer first, across two areas: service contracts under Lifecycle Solutions and Services, and Modernizations & Upgrades projects.

You will work with Sales, Operations, engineering and subject matter experts to size up customer needs, build scopes and cost estimates, and run cross-functional proposal teams that deliver accurate bids on time.

You may present proposed solutions to company management, Sales and customers, and help move the project to Operations once it is awarded.

The company builds supply chain and logistics solutions. This role is new, added to support business growth, and it also covers for a colleague moving to a new position in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proposal teams and own their schedules, inputs and target dates, with clear status updates on each active Solution Request.
  • Review solution requests, customer specifications, operational needs, application goals, site details and supporting documents to pin down what the customer needs.
  • Create service contract solutions such as resident maintenance, audits, preventive maintenance, remote support, digitalization, training and other lifecycle offerings.
  • Design Modernizations & Upgrades solutions of varying complexity, which may bring together automated mechanical material handling, drives, hardware, controls and software.
  • Produce service and project concepts, scopes of work, staffing assumptions, application designs, cost estimates and costing workbooks using standard tools and processes.
  • Work with Sales, Operations, the Lifecycle Solutions and Services group, engineering and other collaborators to close information gaps, check costing methods and record assumptions and decisions.
  • Join or lead proposal reviews, renewal talks, pre-sales work and customer meetings, presenting solutions and commercial assumptions when needed.
  • Handle several opportunities at once, flag unusual or highly complex issues early, and stay accountable for quality, accuracy and schedule.
  • After award, hand the approved scope, costing assumptions, commitments and supporting material to Operations or the execution team in an orderly way.
  • Keep up with material handling concepts, adapt quickly to new processes and tools, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field is preferred.
  • Typically 3-5 years of experience in solution development, service estimating, proposal work, material handling, engineering or a similar field.
  • Working knowledge of customer operations, service contract offerings, automated material handling equipment, controls, software and proposal practices.
  • Proven ability to examine detailed requirements, solve problems, build practical solutions and direct subject matter experts who work independently.
  • Strong leadership, written and spoken communication, teamwork, organization and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to juggle several opportunities and deadlines while keeping work accurate and giving clear progress updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, including PivotTables. Experience with Salesforce, SAP, AutoCAD, Maestro and iProposal is preferred or beneficial.

Conditions

Travel of approximately 20% may be required, to customer sites or company locations.

The base pay range is estimated at $82,875 - $120,000 at the time of posting. Final pay depends on work location, education, experience, knowledge and skills.

Equal opportunity applies to every term of employment, from recruiting and hiring through promotion, transfer, leave, pay and training.

Benefits

  • Career development opportunities.
  • Competitive pay and benefits.
