Description

The company is a new pillar within a larger enterprise solutions unit that designs, builds and runs growth systems for large brands. About 12,000 specialists work across engineering and platforms, commerce, consulting, content transformation, CRM and customer experience, in more than 40 markets. The unit works with platform partners including Adobe, AWS, Braze, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce and Shopify, plus AI specialists. VML, part of WPP, is the creative partner that supports this work.

Content Transformation helps clients change how they create, manage and activate content, combining people, processes and platforms into one AI-supported system. It shows clients where their content operations lose time, money and quality.

The team is small and early-stage. The role is to define the go-to-market story for these products: positioning, messaging, evidence and the materials that let sellers and delivery teams present and use them. Your audience is two-sided: enterprise clients weighing a change to their content operations, and the internal teams who sell and deliver to them.

Most product marketing jobs launch a product into an existing category. Here, part of the job is helping to define the category itself.

The products are technical, so credibility depends on specialist knowledge, not enthusiasm. You will adapt the technical value story for each buyer, such as a CMO, CIO, procurement lead or content operations director, since each needs a different version of the same case.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product management to align the value proposition with market priorities, and translate the technical value of complex products into terms each target buyer cares about.
  • Write how the Meridian platform and the diagnostic suite are described, aimed at enterprise buyers rather than internal audiences.
  • Analyse where the company wins and loses against platform vendors, consultancies and production networks, and make that difference clear in all outward-facing material.
  • Segment buyers by problem, entry point and what they need to hear first.
  • Turn product capability and requirements into what marketing and sales teams need, and feed market requirements back to product.
  • Build sales enablement material used by the company's markets and agencies: narratives, decks, one-pagers, competitive positioning, case studies and RFP content.
  • Write most of the copy yourself, especially in the first year.
  • Bring buyer questions, objections and competitor comparisons into the product roadmap so decisions rest on evidence.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience. Backgrounds in product marketing, consulting, strategy, product management, marketing or communications all count.
  • Deep technical and market knowledge of the software landscape, including architecture, integration and data, and an understanding of how the market is shifting and who is driving it. This is non-negotiable.
  • Experience selling complex B2B products to several stakeholders with competing priorities and long decision cycles.
  • Strong writing skills, shown through a portfolio of work.
  • Experience with competitive analysis and segmentation, and the ability to turn both into clear positioning, not just findings.
  • A record of building sales enablement material that sellers used.
  • The ability to explain technical capability in business terms for both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Experience marketing an AI product is a strong advantage.
  • Bonus: exposure to content operations, marketing technology, digital asset or content management platforms, or agency and consultancy environments.

Conditions

You will report to the Global Head of Product and work directly with the Global Head of Strategy, sitting within the Content Transformation Centre of Excellence.

You will work with the product and solutions team, the go-to-market and pillar strategy lead, and the engineers building Meridian, as well as WPP's wider marketing function, which owns the category narrative, analyst relations and industry positioning.

The role is generalist and has no existing template. You will be comfortable with ambiguity, building the playbook as you go and taking on both strategy and hands-on production work.

Success means teams across markets and agencies can sell the products without you present, positioning holds in competitive deals, product decisions use market evidence you supply, and sales materials are current, easy to find and in use.

WPP is an equal opportunity employer that considers all applicants without discrimination.
